I ordered these jars to replace a plastic growing kit I've had for many years that was starting to show its age. They looked simple enough. These items came with no instructions... it could be that growing sprouts is felt to be too simple to require instructions... except using these jars is very different from the system I had before and I was unclear on how to proceed. I tried to reach out, but to no avail. Finally a tried making the sprouts (3X's now) using what I knew from my previous sprouter and ended up with rotten seeds. I doubt it's the sprouter's fault, but without instructions or assistance they are not working for me.

My first time sprouting and they worked perfectly. Soak 1 tablespoon of seeds for 12 hours. Fill jar and rinse with clean water every 12 hours. Leave straining in a tray between rinses. Took me 3 1/2 days for results (jar 3/4 full of sprouts). Add trace minerals to sprouts once the begin sprouting if desired.

I first expiramented with a jar and cheesecloth cover and that was easy, but these kids made it even easier!Soaking, draining and rinsing are a breeze and the plastic lids are easy to clean. They have worked for all the many types of seeds I have tried so far.The 2 part construction if the kid makes cleaning easy in between batches. The glass is also high quality and thick when compared to another set of smaller cheaper jars I have.I ended up liking the set that I bought a second. For the price it is nice quality and cheap for a full set of glass and custom lid.If the seller offered a set with larger jars I would purchase it in a second!

First time sprouting at home and these jars make things super easy and I have had a great harvest every week. I start 2 jars with broccoli seeds every 4 days for a constant supply of fresh sprouts.

Despite doing this for years, I had issues with mold growth in one of my containers. I don't think it's entirely the containers fault, but I would modify the hole configurations. I've followed the same process for making my sprouts for years, and rarely ever had this issue. But out of the six times I've made spouts in these, I've had to throw out two of them due to mold growth.Be sure you're properly draining the water and setting them up in a way they can drain excess off with good air flow.

I got 3 different brands of sprouting lid to try. These were the most expensive but they are definitely the best quality. I like how these have a concave design to let water flow through better. The slots are small enough that seeds can’t fit through at all. Another brand had flat lids that reduced the ability for the water to flow through by about 50%. Only thing I would improve is to make the plastic a bit thicker because it’s pretty thin and bendy and might be easy to break.

Worked well. Worked great for my first time trying it. I wish they were taller because my sprouts would've kept growing. The jars made the process of sprouting so much easier.
