Great paint if you know how to use it correctly
All of the negative reviews on this product actually have nothing to do with the quality of this product, they’re just indicative of those customers’ lack of knowledge about how to apply latex paint. If you sand properly and prime your surface beforehand, stir the paint extremely well and apply 3 thin coats instead of two thick coats, with a brush (not a roller), you should have absolutely no issues with this paint. Anyone saying they received “a dark blue paint instead of black” has clearly never painted with black paint- black absorbs light, and will look different in the can than it does on the surface that you’re painting. If you do your research and know what you’re doing, this paint works wonderfully. One quart was more than enough to cover my desk and hutch that I turned into a vanity, in 3 coats of beautiful, rich black.

Color
I was totally shocked when I opened the can of paint. It was PURPLE! Not a little purple tint. It was PURPLE! I was going to try to return it when a little voice inside asked if maybe it would dry brown. NO! my brain said. Purple can not turn brown. Try it! my little voice said. So I did .... and IT did! Purple turned to a glossy DARK brown! The paint is actually a darker brown than on the exterior of the can. But it's brown! So glad I listened to my little voice!I would totally suggest that you find somewhere in the description online to warn people of this! It's a game changer!

Excellent Paint
Excellent paint. It was easy to apply. I used a brush and a high density roller and the paint looked very even. Make sure you prep your furniture well first by cleaning, sanding and wiping with a tack cloth. Then apply a coat of primer followed by two coats of this paint. This flat white color transformed my bathroom cabinet and mirror. Love the new look!

Works well with glitter
I bought this for 2 different applications.I repainted my kitchen cabinets and was not happy with the flat look of the white semi gloss latex that I used. I wanted more of a glossy look since you can't use oil based over latex I went with this to topcoat the white cabinets it did ok.It's still not the high shine I was going for but definitely better than before. The second application was to add glitter to the wall and seal it so it can be cleaned when needed. You can directly add glitter to the clear and after it dries you can use it as a topcoat to give it an extra seal it still isn't what I would call glossy but it worked well. I'm including a few pictures in case anyone was wanting to use it with glitter.

Awesome Paint and it really works!
This paint is unbelievable! Living around corrosive saltwater, I was ready to replace our front door hardware as it was looking so bad. I came across this paint and thought, what do I have to lose? After a good cleaning and a light sanding I gave it a coat and was just amazed. It looked brand new. It's extremely drippy paint so I taped everything well and used a cheap paint brush with intentions of possibly throwing it away as it's fairly oily (it actually did clean out well though). I put a light second coat on for durability even though it really didn't need it for appearance and I hardly used any paint at all. This quart would probably cover 100 more locksets. I am totally sold! Check the price though - it seems to fluctuate a lot.

I use it for wood floors--works GREAT, is durable, love the rich color
This product I have used on pine floors and it works great. The Kona Brown is more of a purplish brown/eggplant color. The first coat looks like you've used a glaze rather than a paint, so don't be surprised if you have to use 2-4 thin coats. But I tell you what: for crappy looking pine floors, it seals the wood amazingly well and also LASTS through heavy traffic. It's a great alternative to stripping and staining/varnishing floors. The attached photos are from a bed & breakfast I used to own, and it held up very well to heavy foot traffic (i.e., guests who were hard on the floors), all the floors were painted using Kona Brown. In a perfect world, I probably should have sanded/prepped the floors, but I'm lazy-LOL. I just scrubbed and vacuumed the floor really well and it worked out fine. There is next to no odor, and rolls on very nicely. My only quibble is that this particular color is not available in gallon cans, just quarts. So it ends up being a little more than what you would pay with other colors.

Great paint..
I'm so happy that I have purchase this paint I just had to use one coat and it covered perfectly. I have provided a before and after picture. The smell is not that strong not like some other paints. I also got some paint on my floor and it came out easy. The price was great and the paint is also great. Would recommend it to family and friends.

Don't worry about it looking purple at first.
I purchased this in Kona Brown to cover the bottom of my butcher block during restoration. I think the paint is great. I followed the instructions on the label to prep the surface (220 grit sandpaper and de-greaser) and then painted also according to the directions.I'm very pleased how the project turned out and I had half of the quart left over. I used the rest to refinish 5 towel bars and 2 towel hooks for the bathroom.

Very nice paint, but be quick and effecient
Despite the fact I ordered semi-gloss and received gloss, I was pleased with the quality of the paint. After painting a table and bench and also the cabinet in the photo, I can say I am pretty experienced with this paint. I used Colonial red. It goes on thick and I suggest you work quickly and accurately, without reworking your painting a lot. But the colour is rich and it dries to a very nice finish. Do not paint out of the can, but pour some in another container. Otherwise you can get dried bits of paint in your paint. It dries pretty fast.

Very thin paint
I make outdoor cutouts and like to use black durable paint for the back of them. This paint is garbage! Very very very thin. On my 3rd coat and it’s still looking transparent. Is advertised as black but it’s more of a navy blue even when dried. Please do not waste your time and money on this AWEFUL paint. I regret not buying Krylon or tremclad which are far nicer to use and create more coverage. I also purchased a glitter sealer from Rustoleum and it was a waste of money as well! This company creates sub par products and I really regret using it! If I could give negative stars I would. That’s how much I hate this paint!
