I've had the stinkiest house you could ever imagine for 3 years until recently when I started using charcoal bags. It is the worst smell you could think of that was so dank, musty, with mildew and old house smell deep in the walls and the fireplaces. I have two fireplaces that are not used and actually not safe to use. I've stuffed them with insulation, and I have spent so much money over the years to get rid of the smell. I also live in the Pacific Northwest where it's really wet and damp most of the year. My house smelled so bad that I could literally smell how bad it smelled just by living in it. Normally, you can smell your house when you come home but not so much when you are in it. My clothes smelled, and I was embarrassed to be around people because of it. I've been apologizing forever, and I'm renting so there's not much I can do unless I move. Well, I started using charcoal bags and it all went completely away! My house smells amazing and fresh and there's no hint of a nasty smell anywhere. It completely blows my mind and I literally feel like a miracle happened. I know for a fact if I remove these bags that the smell will come back, so I need to make sure my landlord knows that. I put several big ones in both of my fireplaces and I have them stashed all over. I sort of have an addiction to these now even though my home doesn't need anymore, so I ordered this last bunch to stash around. Also, the smell dissipated within 24 hours of first getting charcoal bags. You need to make sure you get the right amount for the space that you have otherwise they won't work. My house is about 1700 ft²,, so I had to get quite a few bags including a large amount for the fireplaces. I have 3 200 gram bags in each of them now, But I noticed the smell go away by just with two of them. Each time I added more my home felt fresher and fresher. Now I can literally say my home smells amazing. I sometimes put essential oil drops on them, but make sure you set them in the sun once a month to recharge. I love that these are a neutral color so they are not eye sores. You also only receive four hooks, So if you wanted to hang all of them you would need different hooks or a string. The hooks are nice for hanging in my closet, and at first I did have them hanging from my fireplace but since removed them as they were not needed. one two hundred gram bag is fine for in the car. I need to thank my mom for the idea to get these, since she was the first one to try it out with the issues in her home. If you get the right amount for your square footage you will be amazed. Btw, I removed a bunch of these from my fireplace to put them in my little ozone container to refresh them. (People usually just put them in sunlight). During the few hours they were out of the fireplace the total icky stench came back in my home! These will remain until I move out.I do recommend.

I hung four of them in a small mud room where I keep my cats' litter box, and they made absolutely no difference. Maybe I am expecting too much of them, but they didn't do what I got them for. I will have to find an area small enough with an odor light enough to see if they actually do anything.

I use them in my laundry room and pull out garbage drawer! I was pleasantly surprised at the benefit of them! Really cuts down on the odors!
