Small, but very tasty
Okay, so I have always had sardines in oil before, never in water. I recently went on the carnivore diet, so those were no longer allowed. I did some research and found these, and for a much better price than what I was buying at Costco. When I opened them, I was a little surprised. They're tiny, maybe 1/5th the size I'm used to, but there's also quite a few more in the container. The image I've provided shows how they look, but it's a bit less than what comes in the tin as I ate a couple already. For taste..... Unexpectedly delicious! They are extremely flavorful, surprisingly fresh, and very, very delicate. I was not expecting them to be this good or have this much flavor. So in that regard, I'm very happy. One thing I had to get use to is that they're a bit messier than the larger ones I've had. They fall apart quite easily, but that's expected with how delicate they are. Occasionally though, their little spines would dangle from them and that's something I had to mentally get past. Once I did though, I actually liked it. Nothing wrong with a little cartilage and nerve tissue. It's good for ya! So yes, there are bones in this. They're mostly undetectable, but on my first bite, I did get poked in the tongue with a rib. But it is what it is, a sacrifice for good health, am I right?Overall, I am so happy with these, I will definitely be buying them again. In fact, because I'm on the carnivore diet, I will likely have a tin of these every single day. Great source of omega-3's, plus a whole lot of other nutrients. I would absolutely recommend trying this product, and if you have an aversion to skin, bones, or nerves, try to move past it. They're worth it. Again, I cannot overstate how delicate and flavorful they are. Product of Poland, and I must say, Poland lives up to its reputation for good fish. Well done!

Enjoyed it immensely!!
Very good. I really like sardines. I was very surprised by the way the olive oil changed the flavor of the very firm, yet tender meat. I found it to be very mild and literally ‘sweet’ flavored. The large filets were slightly more ‘softened’ by the olive oil, but still very firm, as I mentioned. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! I saw on the can, that there are still bones, but as I taste tested them by simply draining the excess oil, then eating from the can with a fork, I didn’t encounter any bones. I thoroughly enjoyed the larger filets in the simplicity of this manner. I am pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this well portioned single serving size.

The Sardines in Hot Sauce were good, the Lightly Smoked in Oil not so much.
First, the Lightly Smoked in Oil:The sardine can came with the sides dented in, but I don’t believe the product was compromised because of it. Inside, there were 8-12 sardines of varying sizes haphazardly piled in. It was hard to tell how many there were, because the bottom layer of sardines were broken to pieces. The flavor of the sardines is inoffensive, but I couldn’t detect any smoke flavor. The texture of them is quite soft, borderline mushy, which explains why they fell apart in the can. I could see myself choosing these again if they were less than $1.25 a can. Considering King Oscar is only a few cents more, I don’t see myself buying these again. Overall I’m rating these 3 stars because there were no strange pieces in the can and everything was edible and inoffensive.Chicken of the Sea sardines in hot sauce:These sardines are a very good value. Inside the can were 14 small sardines that I was delighted to see were all still intact. Although the sauce is somewhat lacking in flavor, the spiciness works well with the flavor of the sardines. The texture of them was so soft that they were nearly falling apart, but that didn’t stop me from finishing off the can. Compared to Chicken of the Sea Lightly Smoked Sardines in Oil, these sardines in hot sauce were much more palatable in texture and flavor. At only $1.08 per can, these are a fantastic choice for budget sardines. 4 out of 5 stars.
