The hat is solid. Not like a costume hat, very much a real hat with good stitching.

This hat was perfect for my husband. It was comfortable and fit well after adjusting the back of the hat. The "Wayne's World" letters look like they're high quality stitched on and are not screen printed on the hat. The hat came in clean and professionally packaged with no issues.
