The Customer is the Quality Tester
Overall this is a reasonably priced, reasonably accurate Coating Thickness Gauge. I am on my second unit. The first unit was faulty. The switch in the nose of the unit was improperly aligned and would only turn the unit on when I pressed it past it's limit. Amazon immediately sent a second unit that is accurate and works flawlessly. So overall it's a good unit for the money.

Just did NOT WORK. No accuracy
Never even calibrated to correct numbers. readings all over the place. Hard to find a reasonable priced working accurate paint coating gauge.

It measures up to my needs
Bought to replace a previous one that I lost. It's easy to calibrate and use. Excellent tool to measure thickness of paint on cars before paint correction.

Well worth the money.
We have 4 of these. Used for detecting repainted (or original paint) on metal surfaces. They work as well as much more expensive models and battery life is good. Don't be fooled by the extra cheapo versions. You get what you pay for.
