Size good for wire wrapping about 1”-1.5”. Poor color. Some chips, cracks & scratches. Ok for practice. Not for gifting.

The agate slices we received are all on the small side of the range given in the description, but they are all well sliced (no rough or overly sharp edges, no cracks) and more colorful than I expected based on the disappointed reviews. The colors we received were not as bright or varied as the ones in the photo, but I'm happy with them. No greys or washed-out neutrals, and only a couple of duplicates. They're very pretty used on the light table, although 12, at this size, don't go far. (I might order another set.) The inclusion of a drawstring velvet pouch is a real plus, and keeps the agate slices clean and colorful when not in use or on display (it's my understanding that the slices are dyed, and the dyes are not lightfast).

These agate slices were purchased for my brother as an trading item for Odyssey of the Mind. They were supposed to arrive in two days but they took four. This was a problem because he couldn't decide what to get until the very last minute and they had to leave for the competition before the geode slices even arrived (due to the late arrival). We eventually looked through them and found that 3 of the slices were cracked so they wouldn't have made good trading items anyways. Also, they're REALLY small. I expected them to have varying sizes, some large and some small, but no stone was longer than 2 inches and they were all really thin. All the stones we received were dyed very vibrant and unnatural colors but that is what we expected. They're not worth $14.50 considering only 9 of the stones came unbroken.We later found out that our local science museum and planetarium sell large agate slices for $3 and small ones like this for $10 for a pack of 12. Plus, those ones weren't broken.

I didn't get as many different colors as I would have liked, but I guess that is the luck of the draw. Luckily they all came in one piece and suited my needs, I would have just preferred a bigger variety (lots of blue and brown). However they are beautiful and a great deal.

Gave these to my son. He is 6 he loved them. May order him so more. They are not genuine agate

Most of these are very small. 2" or so. But they look very fake. They might be real but they are defininatwly dyed or something. If you're into collecting real stones, don't buy these. If you're into crafty type things they are fine. Out of the 12 stones 6 of mine are blue. Only one of them was actually decent with lots of details and very dimensional. I wouldn't buy these again but they are shiny,colored,& cheap.

First, these are all not real agate pieces, they're dyed glass. I know what a real agate looks like, and this is definitely not it. BUT they look passable. For the purpose of what I wanted them for (to display them in a shadow box) it worked perfectly. If you are looking to showcase them to geologists, then I would think twice.
