Cheap junk
Before installing and wiring it I tried plugging it into 2 different trailers I have. The plug is cheap and does not line up correctly. It would not plug in. I had to return it. Don't waste your time.

Buy another option even if it's a few more dollars.
No wire diagram or even the most basic instructions.Spring latch only closes half way. 100% no moisture protection.Better to spend a little more.

Good deal, easy to install.
This item was a very good price and was easy to install. The inside where the wires connect were labeled for the different colors of wire that attach to them. Easier than expected and I’m a novice.

BETTER QUALITY SOCKETS ARE AVAILABLE
This 7 pole female socket was a disappointment due to one aspect of its interior design. It’s interior wire connect terminals will accept only a quite small diameter stranded wire, you simply cannot insert into the terminal a larger wire. I needed to use an 8 gage stranded wire and it was WAY TO BIG for this socket’s internals. I have rigged several of these over the years and this is the first time I have encountered this. Likely the result of the “build them a little cheaper, and make a bigger margin” philosophy. So, I found a different brand of the same design recepticle and replaced the subject one.

It works!
Looks better and works better than my redneck 4 way and 2 wire trailer brake connector.

Terminals labled wrong
The color designations on the screw terminals are wrong. They are 180 degrees rotated. The device is still usable but you need to wire per standard diagrams, not by the wire color designation on the connector. Many people may not even use these designations are they are almost impossible to read.
