Quality item. Easy to use and very useful.

I purchased this meter as a back-up. This is an inexpensive multimeter that comes with a few extra features. Beyond the typical VDC, VAC, mA, Amps, Resistance and Capacitance readings, it also provides Non-Contact AC Voltage (NCV) and Live Wire AC Voltage detection. The construction is solid. The display backlighting is strong and works well. Note that the NCV detection is fidgety, though. Placing the NCV detector (located at the top of the meter) near an operational 120 VAC outlet, the meter would reliably indicate a "Low" AC voltage (green light) when it is near the outlet. However, it takes a lot of tiny meter position adjustments to get the NCV to indicate "High" AC voltage (red light) near the "hot" line of the AC outlet. The NCV operation is unreliable enough that I may just pull out the probes and plug them in. I subtracted a star from the final product rating as a result. I have included pictures of the meter's contents. The red/black meter probes come with a protective cap over the banana jacks - these will probably be lost within the first month of use. The meter probes are normally fully insulated, exposing a small sharp tip for probing circuitry. The same probes also have a removable sleeve (shown for the black probe) that can be pulled off to provide a longer "pin sticker" probe to insert into the back of Molex type connectors for readings. The 2xAAA batteries were already installed into the meter on delivery, with no protective tape to prevent electrical connection to the meter. So, I have followed the recommendations of other reviewers, and have replaced the installed cheap alkaline batteries with new Duracells just in case the original batteries may fail quickly (and possibly leak).

Excellent meter. Takes a bit of adaptation to select VAC with a second button, a new thing. The battery test function is surprisingly useful as it loads the battery during test. The best feature I've found so far is the touchless voltage detection: being able to trace live wires through the walls is invaluable, and is quite sensitive.

This is an excellent, sturdy, accurate meter at a very affordable price. I was initially skeptical because of the low price, but I use this meter every day and it's a valuable and reliable tool!! The added high visibility multicolor LED at the top of the meter is also great because it lets you know at a glance if a battery is good or bad in addition to the digital reading, and the LED provides visual warning when voltage is present.

This is a great little multimeter at this price point. Bottom line: I needed something to measure capacitor microfarads. You can't find anything as capable, at this price point. I don't need a thermometer or the ability to measure industrial utility lines, and I don't want to spend an entire paycheck. This multimeter hit the spot.

I'm not an electronics expert, but this multimeter was easy to understand (helped by online videos) and seems to have good features (the non-contact voltage capability is awesome). For the price it seems hard to beat.

This is great for home use if you use a lot of batteries. I bought it primarily for the battery testing facilities as we were having problems with some items [grandkids toys and other "smart home" items. We were changing battery sets frequently so thought I'd get a meter to check the status of each individual battery rather than block change them out. I chose this model from the reviews, the price, and the simple switch for choosing the test function needed. I have only used it for resistance and battery checking to date but it paid for itself within a short time as a relation has a holiday let and routinely has to check batteries for the fire regs. Using the meter allowed faulty cells to be replaced individually, saving money each time. I bought a second one as a gift and left it at the holiday let. Very simple to use and a nice clear display. The associated user manual is small but pretty comprehensive with some real life usage examples. My grandson likes to help with the testing [a clear red or green light depending on the voltage of the battery being tested]. One word of caution - the test leads have a very sharp prong at the end so be careful.
