Two Paths to Salvation
As an active Catholic I had heard the phrase "Precious Blood", but I really didn't fully understand what it meant. I was about to find out.On January 1, 2009 I started a devotional prayer entitled, "Devotion to the Drops of Blood Lost by our Lord Jesus Christ on His way to Calvary". The prayer consisted of two "Our Fathers", two "Hail Marys" and two "Glory Be to the Father" all said while meditating on the drops of blood shed during the suffering and death of Jesus Christ. The devotional required a 3-year commitment. It offered some generous indulgences that I ignored simply asking that a loved one might be given a spiritual life-line to climb out of profound unhappiness and personal distress.I completed the 3-year devotional on December 31, 2011 at about 1:00am. That very hour the person I prayed for received immediate and profound healing far greater than I could ever have imagined. She soon converted to the Catholic faith and today, years later, remains one of the happiest people I know.Recently I had been going through some spiritual desolation. I had been wrestling with profound distractions and was praying for the distractions to be removed so I could better focus on practicing my faith. I was offered a booklet entitled "Devotion to the Precious Blood". I knew by the title I was supposed to pay attention to it. I was shocked to learn the term "Precious Blood" has far more meaning than I ever would have imagined. Here's what I learned. The booklet caused me to realize each of us face a choice between two paths to salvation. The first is the path we set for ourselves and the second is the true path opened by the passion and death of Jesus Christ. As someone who attends daily mass I had assumed I was on the right path, but the desolation and distractions I was experiencing was evidence I was not.If I focus my attention on the passion and death of Jesus Christ I focus my attention on His salvation and His redemption and His path for my divinity. But if I lose focus on Christ's suffering and instead focus on my own suffering I fall into distraction and desolation. My anxiety rises because I am now dependent on my own salvation and my own redemption.By failing to keep Christ's suffering at the front of my experience of the Catholic faith I was making a grave mistake. I was taking pieces of the faith and incorporating them into my plan for salvation. It's subtle, but essential we keep our focus on the passion and death of Jesus Christ. Our suffering pales in comparison. Our lives are healed by His stripes. With a focus on the Precious Blood we are freed from excessive anxiety since even our death becomes inexorably linked to His Resurrection - just as He intended it to be.The Catholic faith provides many graces but we must navigate our lives by the direction of the "Precious Blood" in order to experience the fullness of God's plan for our lives.

An excellent summary of this special devotion
This is an excellent summary of the devotion to the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ Our Lord. I hope all who read and use this book may grow in holiness and grace and pray for the salvation of all those who are otherwise in danger of eternal punishment.

It is timely
This devotion to Our Lord’s Precious Blood is recent. Given by HIM to an African youth, Barnabas, to help more people come to the knowledge of HIS INFINITE LOVE of humanity: to the very last drop of HIS BLOOD: a true drink for LIFE ETERNAL. Receive this BLOOD in the Holy Eucharist offered up in the Holy Sacrifice off the Mass.

Loved it!
Just what I was looking for. Made me at peace that there is someone who suffered the same thing I did, and that is Jesus too! So glad the book is published. Thank you. But it doesn't have the chaplet of the precious blood in it. Which I wish it had, but I'm not sure if it's common to pray the precious blood. Or should I pray it?

Thank you for speaking out
I am Catholic and I love my faith. I have struggled in the past to accept the Church's official teaching on homosexuality. I am thankful someone has written a book that gives insight into the PEOPLE who struggle directly. There are so many loving homosexual couples who bring much love to their relationships and families. I hope everyone who reads this book can see the beauty found in homosexual men and women. They are a gift to our church and should be welcomed with open and loving arms.

Deeper Appreciation for Our Lord's Sacrifice
Many opportunities for meditation. Many prayers are centered around the Crucifixion. My eyes are opened to the ramifications of sin.
