Racing Pigeons Hardcover – November 1, 1999

I am just getting started in pigeon racing and as I do with a hobby, I purchase as many books on the subject as I can. This book stands out as the most concise and complete overview of the hobby covering everthing from loft design and getting your first birds to training and racing strategies. I only held back the fifth star because of its predominantly British leaning with some info not applicable to racing in the USA. I would highly recommend this book to those interested in the hobby.

As a newbie to racing homing pigeons, I found this book very informative and helpful to me. There really isn't a whole lot of literature on the subject and this has to be the best.

I was shocked how much goes into pigeon training the the intricacies of the recommended handling. I am no expert but the author was surprising technical about technique and handling.If you are serious about the subject it's an informative read that covers all bases.

I was trying to find the perfect gift for my Stepdad. Coming across these books was by accident, but to see his smile at Christmas was worth it. Who would of thought there were a lot of books for people who actually race pidgeons like my step dad

Ideal book for starters of Pigeon Racing and Pigeon book collectors.Though there are more specialized pigeon books out there,this one gives you a general view of this fascinating hobby.

I ordered 'Racing Pigeons' as a gift for my brother in Ireland on 10 October 2011. We're now on 17 November 2011 and there's no sign of it and no response from "backpack_books". A carrier pigeon would have made it to Ireland by now. Seems I've lost my money, since there's no response from the bookseller . . . Nice, Amazon.

I have a deep interest in Pigeons and found this book to be greatly informative and interesting. I've been reading pretty much everything I can find on the subject and this to be very helpful.

Its ok, but very basic. Nice for beginner to hobby. There is so much more info on the web. But to have a reference book with great photos, this book has it.

Haven't had the chance to review the book yet and it's contents but I think it is alright. It deals primarily with Racing pigeons so racing homers particularly so that is okay.
