What type of glasses and lamp should one buy for this light? I'm currently battling mold toxicity and read this would be useful.

you can go to a farm supply store and get the clamp on metal lamp that they use to keep chicks warm. I'm presently using 2 bulbs and might add another. If you buy a NIR infrared system (expensive), they usually have 4 bulbs. I clamp mine on to a towel rack in a small bathroom.

Are these the same as the red led rubylux?

Hi Vanessa,No, these bulbs are different from the RubyLux All Red LED bulbs. The NIR-A Near Infrared Bulb is not an LED type bulb. It is an incandescent bulb and unlike LED's, it becomes very hot. Another big difference between them is that they do not produce the same wavelength of light. Are these bulbs different from the philips 250-watt incandescent r40 heat lamp bulb?

philips 250-watt incandescents do emit plenty of the near Infrared spectrum (700nm-1500nm wavelengths) to be therapeutic, but perhaps not quite as much in terms of the percentage of total light emitted as the rubylux. Also Phillips make no guarantees about the absence of offgassing undesirable emissions from the color coating on the bulb.
