Kicked them up with homemade lead shot bags. - Out of the box the quality was great. After researching, I chose this one. I do NOT plan to run or treadmill or do vigorous exercises with them. I am in an aggressive PT program to restore my left knee which was shattered in an accident. So my use was to do leg or quad lifts and as I become stronger, I will need more weight. I removed one of the sandbags and then had two choices. Use a seam ripper or Exacto knife and open the top and dump the sand. OR construct a bag that has lead shot in it. I opted to clone one of the bags and fill it with #7-1/2 lead (shotgun) shot. The sandbags weight around 10.7 Oz. I could easily get 42 (2#-10 Oz) in the same envelope or volume. My DW stressed over finding some RipStop nylon kite material for the new bags or using something like denim. Turns out the solution was even simpler. I used a small sandwich bag that was approximately the same length as the original sandbag and put it in a plastic cup and zeroed the scale. Added 42 Oz of Shot. Laid the bag on its side and spread out the shot a bit so that the overall profile closely matched the original. Trimmed off the excess and and folded over the rest and “Scotched” it closed. Then I used a heavy duty first aid tape and laminated it to the bag, so essentially, I had a cloth bag as the tape overlaps the edges of the adjacent strips and the end. NOW, the Engineer kicked in. I needed a slick surface to assist in getting the bag to slide into the pouch. Found a slightly larger Freezer bag and cut off the excess. I then sealed the long edge with HD clear packing tape and folded over the end and sealed it. I have primary, secondary and tertiary containment. The new bags slip in easily and should not be a spillage risk. Substituting 2 42 Oz plastic shot filled bag for 2 of the sand kicked up one weight to 7.5#....which was my target. If you remove and substitute ONE lead filled bag, you have increased the 3.5 # to around 5.5 pounds. VERY INEXPENSIVE way to get a quality set of leg or ankle weights and then be able to adjust and increase the weight. VERY pleased with them out of the box and even more so after I constructed the lead shot bags. Review: Comfortable set of ankle weights. Nice quality and weight adjustable. - Had gotten these to help with my PT after my knee injury and they've been holding up and performing well. The large Velcro strap makes it a cinch to put on and is comfortable while wearing working out. I also like that the Velcro strap is completely covered after wrapping so none of the roughness is exposed or that can damage other fabrics or materials around me when working out. The neoprene like material is also comfortable but don't know how durable it will be in the long run yet as I've tried some others which the material is coarse and likely would cause some abrasions after prolonged use if not wearing full pants. Overall, a good quality product with removable weights for customization.

Well made
These ankle weights are well made and comfortable. It is both easy and convenient being able to adjust the weights as needed. The Velcro holds well. Works great if needed for exercise or for PT purposes.

Great for Building Strength or Losing a Little Weight
If you overindulge during the holiday season, or any other time, and need to lose a little weight, these ankle weights will help you do so, provided you walk around enough while you're wearing them! They are also good for building strength and muscle in the legs. Those who need to do so for physical therapy would probably benefit greatly from using them, but, as always, be sure to check with a doctor or physical therapist before doing so. I find these weights very well made, well worth the money, and easy to put on and take off. Once on, they stay put. I usually wear mine all the time I'm at home, except when I bathe and sleep, of course. I also wear them when I work out at the gym or go for a walk in the park. The benefits, I feel, are enormous. Highly recommended!

As advertised!
These look exactly like their pictures (color-wise) and I am very pleased. They do take a minute to get used to, though. I put mine on and my legs felt so weird- like trudging through mud. It took me a second to adjust them to be comfortable on my ankles, but once I got it they were fine. I really got these to add some extra resistance on my walks and I really felt a difference with these on. My legs worked a little harder and got my heart rate up a touch. I'm sure these would be great to add to pilates workouts out, too (trying that soon!). When I was done, I rinsed them off with some water to get rid of sweat and dust. The material is really nice, it's really just adjusting the tightness and shifting the weights around your achilles to make them comfortable. Bonus, the weights can be removed pretty easily!

Okay-ish for the price I guess?
I've been using these ankles weights for a few weeks now. So far the sleeves are holding up (no tearing off the strap as in other reviews or other seems coming undone) Re the "difficult to change weights" comments: I think the design is on point: The weights won't come loose by themselves, and it takes a bit getting used to adjusting the weights. But it's very much manageable to do so. The three points I'm dissatisfied with: - The weight's bag material and stitching is of insufficient quality: The bags become leaky in no time and the granulate makes a remarkable mess! And besides: The adjustable ankle weights adjust themselves towards zero. - The Velcro part on the sleeve (not the strap) is too short: If your ankles are not the biggest, You're running out of room to properly secure the strap on. Also, the strap is overhanging and flopping around and that is just annoying when working out / running. - These weights come in only one design: Usually you have a left and right ankle to put them around. Basically you have to use one upside down (with the weight opening downwards) as to have a mostly symmetrical setup. In summary: You get what you pay for: It's ok for trying out working out / running with weights. You have to compromise on functionality and accept sub-optimal product. I don't expect these to last much longer than a few month, though. So an affordable solution to try out ankle weights but not the one I'd choose for the longer term.

Customizeable
I really like these ankle weights instead of having to buy multiple weights I am able to just remove and add the 1 pd sections as needed. I had ACL surgery in April and ankle weights were part of my exercises so I bought these for myself to continue once I was cleared from having to go to PT. My only complaint is getting the weights back into their pockets, it is a little difficult and maybe from it being so new it will change in the future with more use but I find it hard to get the top flap back over the weight once back in the pouch, thus why the 4 star rating on removal.

A great adjustable ankle weight
I bought these for my pre-teen daughter for a dance class and love that the weights are removable to easily adjust the overall weight on her ankle. The straps are adjustable as well to fit tiny little ankles (would work on a wrist as well).

Bulky & difficult to fasten tight for wrists.
I find the product difficult to fasten tight especially on the wrists unless someone else helps u. The fastening method they designed is not practical for using it on your wrists and should be revised. Also the product is too bulky to be used practically for wrist weights. This product is really designed just for ankle weights and it should be advertised as such, you’ll be disappointed if your intent is to use it for your wrists. Otherwise it’s price point is great and the quality is surprisingly good for the price point.
