It Works
Arrived as advertised, on time, properly packaged. Product works as intended, was quick and easy to install. Appears to be well made. The Crucial website provides a comparability checker to determine which RAM will work with your computer, and I picked mine up from Amazon. Would recommend to a friend.Edit:To install (quickly and easily), do a quick YouTube search to see what you need to do (it helps more than just reading). A quick note in case they don't say it,making sure you unplug the computer from power sources, discharge static electricity, and remove all jewelry. With today's technology in theory the odds of something bad occurring (using modern technology) is small, the threat of static electricity is unlikely unless you are charged (which is why they recommend you to verify you've discharged all of it before touching the internal sensitive components). You'll probably want to grab an air-can duster to remove any and all dust inside your computer (it's better to do this more than occasionally), installing the RAM itself is very, very quickly.Follow the included instructions and refer to a short YouTube video to install, should take about 1-2 minutes total. You want to install the RAM with one slot open between the two sticks (or having a stick in between them if you are putting in more RAM). Typically it will recognize your new RAM automatically, especially with newer computers. Be careful with it so that you do not damage it (make sure the clips are working properly, and opened, that the RAM is aligned properly, it'll usually take a bit of force to put it in, but verify before doing so).

Good value, good stuff. Runs flawlesslessly after 1 year.
Asus did not list these on their approved list, but it occurred to me that a Chinese company may not be inclined to list an American company. Also, there really weren't a lot of options listed in the 2X8 GB range for my motherboard at the time I bought these. The Crucial site listed these as suitable for my Sabertooth 990FX r2 motherboard so I went with that.In my experience memory selection is a key decision in building your own system. Even if you get a truly compatible stick it's hard to assess the true speed. The speed on these is determined not only by the 1600mhz speed but also the CL8, in the first number in the spec. That means 8 clock pulses to complete an operation instead of 9 to 12 in many other cases. A 1600mhz at CL8 is faster than 2133Mhz at CL11. So this is good stuff for the money. In building a custom system, I found I had to go into BIOS and increase the voltage from 1.5 stock setting to 1.51 to avoid hiccups under heavy load. I've been using these for about a year now under that setting and they work absolutely flawlessly, even under heavy load. It didn't fail with light, normal use at 1.5, but testing under maximum load with Prime95 made it fail some calculations without the extra voltage. There may have been a little over-clocking in there too. I've left it at 1.51 volts and in my experience this kind of tuning is just part of building a machine. For those who like to OC, I think I took it from 4.0 to 4.6Ghz with air cooling but most of that was changing the chip multiplier, bus voltages etc., and leaving the RAM speed alone. I don't think these sticks are capable of running more than about 5% higher than the 1600mz they are designed for once you apply a heavy load. That's not unusual. All of this with an 8-core AMD FX8350 chip which hits the memory fairly hard and running under the full 64-bit version of Windows 8.1.As others have noted: your bios will detect the ideal settings through an imbedded XMP. XMP is an Intel oriented standard so with an AMD chip you'll have to temporarily set your RAM settings to some sort of custom mode so that BIOS will actually look at the memory to detect the optimal settings listed in XMP. Either way, this RAM can successfully communicate the ideal settings to your computer, so you can get the best performance from via the built in speed from the CL8 setting.

Awesome DDR3 sticks, top notch.
This ram is fast and highly compatible with even the most picky motherboards like mine, although it will downshift the latency slightly in order to get that compatibility which will result in a loss of some speed. But it's not noticeable except on a benchmark, doesn't affect gaming FPS except maybe a RAM bound game in which you *might* lose 1/2 FPS. Not a big deal....But getting a picky motherboard to accept something is better than nothing at all like in my case.Otherwise, this is a excellent set of DDR3 RAM that should run very well with any motherboard you throw at it.A+++

Great RAM; made me a repeat buyer!
I've been using this RAM (8GB x 2) in my desktop for some time now with no problems, so when I wanted to max out my RAM, I bought another pack. My machine now has 32GB of Crucial Ballitix Tactical RAM, and still no problems. As before, I can open absurd amounts of tabs in my browser, run tons of programs, load up RAM-heavy games with no problems. The extra 16GB let's me dedicate more RAM to the Minecraft client, Minecraft servers, and do longer RAM previews in programs like After Effects, and still not hit my RAM limit. Overall, I've had no complaints, and recommend this wholeheartedly.EDIT: At the time of this update this RAM is currently for sale for $208 which is a lot more expensive than when I purchased it and seems to be coming from a third party. I'm not sure why this is... Perhaps Crucial is no longer manufacturing this particular version of RAM at the same quantities as before? You may want to consider some of Crucial's other options in the Ballistix line, all of which seem to be available at lower price points. Otherwise you're likely paying more than you need to.

It is what it is.
I can't get really excited about RAM, it either works or it's a manufacturer defect. As long as it's name brand and fits your build then I'd challenge anyone to tell me by looking whether I'm running 1600mhz or 2400mhz or 3200mhz. This works fine, matches my build...the only part of my builds I base solely on aesthetics is RAM. When you get into clock speeds, latency, etc. it's fun to talk about between us geeks but unless you do video editing professionally it makes absolutely no noticeable difference in the real world based on decades now building computers.

Everything was easy and worked great. Shipping was fast too.
This ram was perfect for my desktop computer. Just plugged it in and it worked perfectly fine with my existing 8 gigs of Ram.

buenas memorias

RAM OTTIME SU CROSSHAIR 4 FORMULA e MAXIMUS VII HERO By CRUCIAL
