Never has the old adage, ''You get what you pay for'' been truer. Not all bog seats are created equal. Like I suspect many others, I at first went for a cheapo. Few weeks later the crappy plastic bolt snapped. Stupidly bought a replacement set of fittings for an eye-watering £8. Same thing happened. Lost my patience and shelled out a few quid more. Proper wooden seat - not that horrible MDI - with metal screws that go into metal fittings. Solid as a rock and good-looking too. I mean, it's not as if it's something you need to - or would want to - change often.

I have a problem.We put this on the toilet only three days ago..Today 26th October I used the toilet I heard a crack from the seat .On inspection the right side of the front seat had split.It is a straight split as if where the wood had been joined had come apart. I am really annoyed that this has happened.I paid over £30 for this. It wasn’t cheap but is cheaply made. I want to ask for a refund for this.

Good solid product

A doddle to fit, not like my last one which was a complete pain and couldn't be adjusted. Sits nicely on the loo pan and is of solid construction. Solid pine not those awful "pine effect" things. Warmer to sit on as it's wood!Update - I don't recommend. After 1 year's use the aluminium coating on the hinges flaked completely off leaving a powdery, unsightly residue. Seller doesn't want to know as it's outside the 1 year warranty by one month. Not happy at all. Good, solid seat let down by cheap hinges.

Two of the screws holding the lid on to the seat were loose. Probably because the seat is fibreboard (or similar) core, not solid wood so there's not much for the screws to grip.

Says it all

I'm impressed with these toilet seats. I fitted two at my Nans, they're nice and solid and very simple to fit with decent instructions.Yes the hinges can be a little fiddly to get the position of the seat just right but that's the same with any toilet seat.The delivery performance was fantastic, even over Christmas, and the value for money is good.I hope you find my review helpful.
