An inexpensive gem!
I spent fifty dollars for a practice mute which I still have and like very much. I saw this mute in red with a very inexpensive price and had to see how it works. It’s great! Smaller, lighter, just as quiet, good pitch, and easy to find with its bright red color. I like the bag for storage in my case. Good quality at a super price!

The best amazon has to offer
After searching amazon for as many mutes I can this is the only version that truly works as a silenced mute in terms of lowering sound of your trumpet. It tends to fallout more times than comfortable but in terms of price, usability and quality this is the only choice for you if you want to lower your volume to stop complaining neighbors/roomates. It's also a plus being able to have different colors is a plus.

A fairly decent silence mute.
I liked this silence mute until the foam ring came off inside the bell of my trumpet after just a couple of months! I had a hard time getting it out. I had to superglue it back on. It now sounds like a kazoo!

UPDATED! Buy one of these immediately....
Add this to the list of positive reviews. 30+ years playing informing this review... This thing is great and at a realistic price. I understand the need for a decent margin on a product but I was put off by the prices asked by some of the makers/sellers of "similar" products - come on, now. I tried a couple of DIY's - nope. I saw the Pampet at $12 and gave it a try. Wow - they got the science down on this thing. Pitch is right and while there is some (really not much) resistance, you can move air without blowing out your chops, etc., etc. Easier than playing on a Harmon, for sure. Plenty of sound dampening. They should be able to sell a TON of these - fantastic.Update: I added a ring of self-adhesive weather stripping (rubbery kind) just above the PAMPET label - it now works just as well in my flugelhorn. The new stripping does not interfere in any way when used in the trumpet. What a bargain - one mute for both instruments.

Best practice mute I've owned or tried
I am a professional trumpet player and teacher. I own MANY different practice mutes and was never happy with any... until now. Some cost $100 or more, including Yamaha Silent Brass and a copy of the Best Brass (Protec Liberty) and a few others whose names I can't remember. I've always hated playing with practice mutes as the "blow" is so much different that other than helping to keep my "chops" in shape I have avoided using them as much as possible.I was at one of my student's homes earlier and saw this mute sitting on a nearby table. It looked curious. "Pampet"? Never heard of it. I popped it in my horn and was really surprised at how little back-pressure it produced. I was carrying a Best Brass copy and popped it in for comparison. No contest. The Pampet was only slightly louder than the the Protec Liberty but MUCH easier to play. I HAD to order one which I did immediately. This mute is made out of some sort of plastic but feels like it has different densities throughout. It comes in a fancy box and wrapped in a velvet bag, much like Crown Royal whiskey(?). I couldn't help but think the bag cost more to make than the must. The front of the mute has a plastic piece that looks like a large plastic washer. I have no idea of the physics of it, but not only does it quiet the trumpet to very low levels I can feel the vibration of the horn in my hand! I've never experienced that before. My first test was about 8:30pm at home where my grandson was asleep. My daughter often shushes me if I talk in a normal voice which is often stifling (I won't get into that). Without saying a word, I took my trumpet and mute to the basement and played for a few minutes then came back up. My wife, daughter an son-in-law were on the couch on the first floor, right above where I was playing. Not a word about my playing. They didn't even know.A lot of players don't get enough practice time in because they work or go to school and they don't have a secluded place to practice away from family. I think this mute is a game changer. For people like me who need both free blowing and good tactile resonse this mute can ge a godsend. From a practical purpose I don't think you'll find a better practice mute at any price, except for the 2nd generation Yamaha Silent Brass for $150-$200.

Mutes the sound well
This thing works as it should in that it definitely mutes the sound when I am practicing or warming up, but keep in mind there is considerable back pressure. I thought it would be like using a straight mute in my trumpet, but the back pressure is substantial. Does the job and was relatively inexpensive.

Pampet mute
This mute came recommended for my bugle and didn't disappoint. A excellent piece of equipment at a good price. Made it possible to practice at home without annoying the neighbours.

valido prodotto
