Best decaf beans so far
A long-time caffeine junkie and espresso aficionado, I knew had to reduce my previous clinical overdose-level caffeine intake by switching to decaf. For most of the pandemic, I had settled on Swiss water process decaffeinated medium light roast Colombian beans from Don Pablo, until I looked more into the CO2 decaf process. Coffee Bean Direct had a 5-pound bag of CO2-decaf light roast, so had to try it. I was not disappointed. These beans produce all the crema of a high-end non-decaf medium roast, and they have more flavor than the Don Pablo beans. A full-on winner in my book. I mostly despise dark roasted beans, so I won't be tasting that version from Coffee Bean direct, but I accept that your tastes may vary from mine. If you miss that medium-light tang but still want a decaf, I am confident these beans will deliver. I will add that these work well for cold brew, too. Bravo, Coffee Bean Direct.

Only buy this if you like Starbucks Drip Coffee
I was a little disappointed I gambled on a 5lb bag because the reviews were really good, but this is very bitter, very burnt and very Starbucks. It's ineligible for a refund through Amazon so I did contact the company and they were very helpful. Hopefully I can get a more palatable bag of coffee

Very enjoyable decaf
I've tried several of the Coffee Bean Direct decafs, and this is probably my favorite. Smooth flavor, but with enough depth to make it interesting. The roast is a medium-dark with just a wee bit of oil on the bean. Dark enough to give it a robust flavor but light enough that you don't get a burnt taste. That perfect middle-of-the-road spot!Coffee Bean Direct also makes a CO2 processed decaf Columbian, but I actually prefer the taste of this, even though it is made using the chemical decaf method. This has more flavor and richness than the CO2 processed version. If you're concerned about the package size and the beans going stale, it freezes well. I pack the beans in a Mason jar, then remove the air using a food vacuum and this attachment: FoodSaver T03-0023-01 Wide-Mouth Jar Sealer Keeps for months in the freezer without any appreciable loss of flavor. Be sure to let the jar come up to room temperature before opening it so you don't get condensation on the cold beans (I usually leave the jar sit for a day before opening it). You also should not defrost and re-freeze the beans - use a jar that is sized to hold about what you would use up in a week (for me, that's a quart size jar).Highly recommend!

Excellent Quality - Flavor on the Weak Side
I'm on my third 5 pound bag of this CO2 Decaf Colombian coffee. I obviously have enjoyed it. The aroma and freshness of the coffee from Coffee Bean Direct is absolutely wonderful. For some reason the beans also grind terrifically without any static electricity that usually sends other grounds scattering. I like that. However, after buying my third bag of the Colombian beans I think I will move on to another decaf.I don't know whether the Co2 process yields a weaker flavor or if it is just this particular roast. I have found that a normal portion of ground beans in a drip coffee maker produces a rather watery and weak coffee, not nearly worthy of the amazing smell of the beans. I keep using more and more coffee to get the most flavor out of the beans. This seems to work ok for now, but I now use almost 50% more coffee than is normally called for. I still like the brand though and look forward to trying another CO2 decaf roast from them next time.

Worth the money
I recently resupplied with this decaf coffee and found the price for the quantity satisfactory and the coffee very good. Since I blend it with another stronger flavor as a compromise coffee for my wife and I, I can't speak to the individual flavor, however I will tell you the beans look perfectly roasted, have a pleasing aroma and, I suspect, drunk on its own would be wonderful. Let me add a constructive criticism as I feel it's important. With a package this size, the Company should be aware of the need to include a re-seal mechanism like a long strip that can be used to secure the sides after compressing the air and folding down the package. I found two shorter ones from a previous store brand that I taped to the package and use along with dog-eared clear packing tape to keep the freshness in!

Great Tasting
We've had their Colombian whole bean decaf and liked it. Tried to order again but they were temporally out of stock and we'd run out before they could ship. Decided to order their Dark Brazilian Santos whole bean decaf. We like it over the Colombian. Beans are smaller, but who cares. They're darker and show oil on their surface. That's a good sign. Bottom line, we really like it. Great favor but not strong. We're finding we're drinking more of it, which means we'll soon be ordering another 5 pound bag.

My New Favorite Decaf
I have been a long time user of Whole Bean Coffees. I prefer to grind the beans myself, that way you get the freshest cup of coffee possible, short of roasting the beans yourself. Although I've only been using this product for the last month or so, I'm completely sold. I was using a popular brand sold at many grocery stores but due to the rising cost of the coffee, I figured I would look elsewhere. Amazon always seems to come through for me when I want to try a new product or get the same product for a lesser cost. The only problem one might have with ordering a 5 pound bag of coffee beans is how do you store it once it's open, luckily I had an old unsued container to put the beans into, now I know every time when I go to grind the beans they will be fresh. The taste and aroma of this coffee is a definite waker-upper in the morning.

We like it. Mild and tasty.
Probably a bit mild for some folks. But we like it. I'd call it delicately complex. If you (as my spouse does) mix decaf with caffeinated beans to make half-caf I think this'll do very well.Update: Bought it several times now, all good. 👍
