Inexpensive and quality product
Fit great on my Gen2 and well enough on my Gen3 mags. Good quality and easy to put on with a snug snap on the mags. Well worth the money to relieve tension on the springs for storage.

PMAGs Only
Only works with the MAGPUL PMAGs, i have a Amend4 mag and a black rain mag and it won't fit them, But works great on my PMAGs.

These are for AR 15 (5.56/223)
These are great with a caveat: They are ONLY for AR15 magazines. I needed some for AR10 mags and this is what appeared on the Amazon search. The description does not say what magazines they were for and thus I received covers that are in excess of what I want and not the one that I wanted.This was my search on Amazon: PMAG® Impact/Dust Cover – LR/SR GEN M3™, 3 Pack which is the exact definition of the item on Magpul's site. I also searched Amazon for AR20 magazine dust covers...same result, wrong item.

The real thing
Brand name that fit M2 mags, perfect.These take the spring load off the plastic feed lips which according to BubbaLore can slowly deform when left fully loaded for a long time.Don't know if this is true but Its cheap insurance and looks cool, too.

Works on Gen2&3
Works as intended on Gen2 /Gen3 PMags and for some reason works better than the covers that came with my original PMags purchased in 2009

These are GEN M2 (not listed in description) covers, but will attach to GEN 3 mags.
4 Stars only because there is no indication on the listing that these are GEN 2 Covers. It is clearly labeled on the package when you receive the item. I compared them to a GEN 3 I have and the difference is very minimal. But when you put them on a GEN 3 mag (they DO fit fine, a BIT snugger), there is a slight gap on the backside of the mag. If you bought these for feed lip protection, no big deal, if you bought them for dust protection, gonna be a little gap (about 3mm x5mm) compared to the proper GEN 3 covers. There is some disagreement as to whether these are necessary as Magpul no longer ships with them, but they are cheap and do take tension off the feed lips if you’re concerned about it. Photos show GEN 3 cover on top, 2 on bottom, and GEN 3 on left, 2 on right.
