Carrera 71590 Electronic Lap Counter, for use with GO 1/43 and Evolution 1/32

I have ho scale slot cars this lap counter works but you have to lift track about 3/8 of an inch. Very happy

It worked but didn't fit my track

I really liked this item. Before buying, I read that this could be used for HO racing and timing by simply elevating the track. This was easily done with a little bit of foam padding to raise the track maybe 3/8ths of an inch. After a quick install of 4 AA batteries, it was ready to go. The timing seems very accurate, and when by myself, I can easily check my lap times to try and improve my driving skills and speed.

It will work with afx and auto world tracks with a little adjustment, to complicated for daily use unless you're doing a lot of racing then it might be worth getting one.

Works well on HO scale tracks if you raise the track up a quarter of an inch.

it was easy to set just set it where you want to start your races then you follow instruction on how to start the count down because it will give you 4 seconds to start if some one starts before the count down is finished it will give you a false start other wise have fun you can also set how many laps you want to run up to 999 laps I liked 30 laps just follow instructions its a little confusing but I know any one can figure it out

After adjusting the position, I even got this to work for my HO scale cars (1/64). Various cool lap and timer functions.

Like another reviewer said you get what you pay for. I have a 2 car slot Scalextric and wanted to up the ante by tracking laps and fastest times etc so I went for the Carrera option. I am happy with the purchase and has a few different features which I find easy to use. The data it gives you is quite interesting like fastest lap time or overall duration for say 100 laps (its amazing how quick a car gets round the track). You can set the counter to track from 999 laps or set a timer. You can play one player or two. It counts down from 5 and then you get the Go...if you go early it shows false start and you go again. I might play against the kids on lap version or just by myself trying to beat fastest lap. The Legs extend out hence it can easily fit to different sets. It beeps when you pass under the gantry and has a different beep if you set the fasted lap. It doesnt record fastest ever lap, just fastest in the race so you have to write down top times for later reference which is no big shakes. Happy to recommend and requires 4 x AA batteries.

Der Torbogen sieht toll aus, macht das richtige Rennfeeling und ich finde die Bedienung nicht zu kompliziert. Natürlich hätte man es eleganter machen können. Kinder verstehen aber sehr schnell wie man die Rundenzahl vorab einstellt. Außerdem merkt sich das Gerät die zuletzt eingespeicherte Rundenzahl. Man muss dann nur alle drei Stellen der dreistelligen Rundenzahl nochmals bestätigen, bevor man das nächste Rennen starten kann. Das ist etwas lästig, geht aber auch in 3 Sekunden. Einfach 5 oder 6 Mal auf den gleichen Knopf ganz rechts drücken. Die Lichtschranke funktioniert bei uns bei allen Fahrzeugen zuverlässig, also auch bei den F1-Fahrzeugen, ohne Beanstandungen. Der Preis ist etwas zu hoch angesetzt. Insgesamt macht das Ding aber viel Spaß und ist etwas ganz anderes als die mechanischen Rundenzähler.
