I just pulled the Duck and Goose (D&G) mattress topper from its package and installed it on my bed. I’m now lying directly on it (sans sheets) and it is exceedingly comfortable. This topper is thick enough that I’m literally sinking into the sublime padding, and my mattress underneath is there but it seems far away.Mind you I have a nice traditional mattress already with a respectable cushioned layer (not gel based) at the top of the mattress that is pretty comfortable on its own. So I wasn’t specially looking for a mattress topper on Amazon, but what often happens to me who regularly browses the site, I come across an item that I didn’t know that I needed or, more often, wanted, and this is what happened with the Duck and Goose mattress topper. I stumbled upon it and seeing that is was well rated, I was intrigued enough to click on it to read more. After reading the product description and the plethora of favorable reviews, my interest was piqued enough that I decided to purchase it and see if it was as heavenly an experience as the reviews said.Allow me to add that this wasn’t the first mattress topper I have owned; however, all my previous toppers were thin in comparison to the fluffy D&G topper with its two inches of padding. The much thicker padding on this topper made me think that what I was buying was going to be far more than a mattress protector, which had been the sole function of my previous toppers.As soon as I laid back on this mattress topper, I knew without question that it was way more than a mattress protector, as I had hoped. The topper is so padded I expect it will be a tight squeeze in my washing machine for sure, so I will be more careful about eating and drinking in bed. But it is so worth that comprise to have this super fluffy topper to fall into every night and my occasionally afternoon nap. Luckily, it will fit into my dryer easily enough and that is essential to keep the fluffiness factor at maximum, so says the included directions.I honestly don’t know what the “extra firm mattress topper” means in the heading by the manufacturer, because there doesn’t seem to be anything firm about this topper, it just feels super comfortable.This mattress topper turned out to be a smart purchase. I had read a solid number of favorable reviews, as cited above, before I made the decision to buy it. Admittedly, the topper wasn’t an item that I could justify as being needed, but with what I had read I felt the topper had the potential to be a great addition to my bed, and it might even help with my sporadic lower back pain.I’m happy to report that the topper delivered in both areas. It markedly enhanced the comfort of my bed ten-fold and the thick padding has helped with my moderate back pain. It almost goes with out saying that I highly recommend this D&G mattress topper to take your comfort in bed and sleep to the next level.In fact, I am so loving this mattress topper that I have decided to buy a queen size version to give to my sister for Christmas. I know my sister has a bed that I would categorize as average; she definitely spent fewer than a $1000 for it, and it’s not one of those now popular gel beds that can be had for barely $500.Therefore, I feel confident that this D&G mattress topper will thoroughly be appreciated and enjoyed by my sister. She doesn’t know it yet but post Christmas her bed will be considerably more comfortable. And this mattress toppler is exactly the kind of gift I most like giving. I bought 1 of these duck and goose toppers with the skirt, Queen size because our shoulders and arms where going to sleep during the night, we were frequently waking up with numbness or pain in arms, shoulders and back. This was new high quality expensive mattress and beyond a return period. This topper was so wonderful I bought another one for the bed in our RV. I followed the instructions and placed in dryer for 30min. It was fluffy out of the bag but that fluffed it up more. It was immediately apparent opening the box that this was a high quality product.! We had previously also added a dream foam pad from bed bath and beyond. I came to the decision to add both products based on reviews! I am so glad that I did, very happy with the results. We have had the pad for several months now. I have taken it off and put in dryer 1 time since however it wasn't sagging or showing body imprints I just did it for a maintenance type thing. With both pads our mattress is now 18 inches but the skirt holds the pad in place. It has made finding sheets a little challenging, but it was so worth it. I have not noticed a increase in body heat. The material is super soft. So we bought another dream foam from BB and beyond and this pad for the Rv bed, the Rv is new to us and the previous owners said the mattress was new and it looks it. The thing was just so hard and we were having the same issues numbness and lots of pain upon waking, and not sleeping well. Unfortunately this did not solve the problem with the RV mattress, but it did help a lot. This no fault to the topper. We have decided we are going to need to purchase a different mattress for the RV, but when we do this D & G topper will go right back on it. If you are on the fence about purchasing this get off the fence and buy it. Again I purchased 2-- D & G extra plush with the Skirt deep pocket pillowtop topper with 158 oz fiber fill. It has the Jacquard fabric with quilted design. I mention all this because they do have several options and wanted to be specific as I think some of the reviews get missed up between products. I have not been given any kind of offer or endorsement. I am just a very, very happy customer!! I hope my review is helpful. I don't usually write reviews but this product has inspired me to do so. I actually purchased this topper at the same time that I was purchasing an air mattress (Intex Comfort Plush Mid Rise Dura-Beam Airbed ) to help add comfort to it since most air mattresses are a lot on the firm side. I have not been disappointed at all!The topper arrived in excellent condition with no smell whatsoever. After removing it from its package, I lay it out for about 30 minutes, and about every 5 minutes I would lightly lift each corner up and down a few times, and it fluffed up nicely; I did not have to place it in the dryer to fluff it up One side has thick soft fleece-like material, and the other side is smooth and plump. It even comes with a zipper case that you can store the topper in when not in useSince I received my air mattress on the same day, I set it up so I could also feel how firm it would be without anything on it, which by the way, was more comfortable than I could have imagined. (I do plan on writing a review for this air mattress as well).Since all of our adult-aged children were home for Mother's Day and one of them would be using it, I had them give me their honest opinion of the air mattress/no topper and the air mattress/with topper. Without the topper, they found the air mattress to be more comfortable than other air mattresses. However, when I put the topper on the air mattress, it made a huge difference. It no longer felt like you were on an air mattress but a feeling of a nice soft comfy bed or even a water bed. My daughter who ended up sleeping on it for 3 nights said that she was so pleased with it. Also, the deep stretchy pockets on the topper, kept it in place on the air mattress every night it was used.I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

I love it after a month of sleeping on it. I put it in the dryer NO HEAT to fluff it up. I sleep with a big fan on all time and the air seem to fluff it up constantly. My new mattress was a little too stiff and this seem to finish the product.I got back and hip soreness. It helps a lotNOW TO FINISH OUR BEDROOM! Paint

I read a ton of reviews before I settled on this topper. I have a supportive but firm latex mattress and I wanted a pillow top for some added cushion. I didn't need anything super thick and this was just perfect. I followed directions and popped it in the dryer for 30 minutes. It fluffed right up. The corner elastics work well and the fluff is evenly distributed. I'm really happy I chose this topper. My bed has never been more comfortable. If I remember I'll come back after a few months have passed and leave an update.

This product is just ok. I have a very deep mattress 20”, and the straps do not fit around the mattress. At best I think the straps would only go around a 15-16” mattress comfortably. It works well enough the just sit on top of the mattress. I did try to force the elastic and ripped the straps completely. The cooling part is not correct. Do not buy this for a cooler sleep. It looks plush in the photo but doesn’t give extra softness at all. I give it 3 stars because I am keeping it but the description is completely wrong.

I get really hot at night and can't use a lot of toppers. This one is great, it doesn't make me hot at all. I wish it was a little thicker but if it was, it'd probably get too hot so all in all, it's perfect. Thanks :)

The mattress pad is cool and comfortable however not entirely cool enough when I have an intense hot flash
