This is a smaller cone then I assumed it would be, these are known to last ages though so not concerned. It worked as expected. The best part of the order was that I ordered this item around 3in the morning and it arrived later that afternoon around 3pm I believe. That's insanity! So very fast! Not the 1st time Amazon has pulled off this crazy stunt. Makes me kinda worry their employees aren't getting over worked.... Sure hope not. I bet it's just they have gotten so good at what they do now and hubs/warehouses all over. I live in Portland Oregon so pretty big city known for its Tech Savvy-ness and tech inclined residents so makes sense to have a warehouse near my local stocked with things to makes insanely quick delivery times like this... At least I HOPE that's the case hah. Anyways, totally awesome and totally good item.

Tried it , works looks like it's going to last a long time, bought a glass coster for a dollar from goodwill and scored the inside with a diamond wheel makes a good past or slurry, the only down fall I'm afraid I'm going to knock it off work bench and break the cone

This borax cone solved all my soldering issues when making copper jewelry. Solder flows nicely and faster. Definitely recommend it.

I read about this product on a facebook group for metalsmiths. Someone said it was the best so I decided to try it out. WOW! I can't believe how much my soldering results have changed for the better.

Well made and can't wait to use

Since this is the first time I have purchased this item and used it, I can't lay all blame on the item itself, but on me. I cannot seem to get it to produce the 'slurry' that is shown on videos I have watched for instructions. I tried it repeatedly but feel this was not my best purchase. I feel sure that in the future I will attempt to try it again and again, hoping for better results. I actually do better with plain Borax , slowly mixing in the water.

August 2008 erhielt Borax das Gefahrensymbol für giftigund wurde in die Gruppe der krebserzeugenden, erbgutverändernden und fortpflanzungsgefährdenden Stoffe der Kategorie 1 bzw. 2 eingestuft.Borax und Borsäure wurden in Europa als reproduktionstoxisch eingestuft und sind in der EU seit Dezember 2010 nicht mehr frei verkäuflich.Dieses Gesetz hat deutsche Großhändler für Goldschmiede-Bedarf stark verunsichert.Einige verkaufen kein flüssiges Borax mehr an Amateure.Obwohl Borax für viele andere Zwecke weiter im Handel ist.Denn unter 10mg Bor täglich darf in Tablettenform selbst im Drogeriemarkt als Medikament verkauft werden.Bei Borax in fester Form machen Großhändler einen Unterschied.Die Kegel zum anrühren des Lötflussmittels sind ja noch nicht bereit für das Grundwasser.Dieses Borax hier kommt aus den USA.Hier genügt ein Aufkleber, der auf Krebsgefahr und die Gefahr für ungeborenes Leben hinweist.Außerdem Brille und Atemschutz. Alles weitere soll ich auf der Homepage nachsehen.Also darf ich weiter nach alter Väter Sitte das Flussmittel in der benötigten Konsistenz selbst herstellen.Und da es beim löten verdunstet, könnte selbst ein gewerblicher Anwender, (der sich vorschriftsgemäß schriftlich zur Beachtung der Entsorgungsregeln verpflichtet hat )die Abluft nicht einem Industrieentsorger anliefern.Aber natürlich habe auch ich einen Abluftfilter an meinem Arbeitsplatz.Laien können übrigens auf die teure Alternative Firescoff aus den USA ausweichen.Das ersetzt dann nicht nur ein Flussmittel, sondern erspart gleichzeitig das anschließende Säurebad.Denn auch diese Säuren werden teilweise selbst in kristalliner Form nicht mehr von allen Händlern frei verkauft ( z.B. Vitrex).Da weigert sich der eine und der andere eben nicht.Auch das ist kauzig. Denn Schwefelsäure für Autobatterien ist viel höher konzentriert.

The borax cone I received was made in India. The wuslity is not as good as the ones I usually buy from UK. I purchased in August, didn’t open the product until until mid October. The cone was sealed inside plastic, surrounded by the paper wrapped & inside a box. However when first opened the plastic wrapper the borax cone had obvious moisture inside the wrapper & the cone had moisture bubbles on it. Not happy as it will disintegrate very quickly.
