Great idea, poor execution.
This device has one goal: Make your internet more reliable. Unfortunately, it falls short. It is not far away, but not close enough to the mark to be a value to the consumer. After hours of research I did not find a better alternative to this device, and that is a shame. This is a great idea and there is clearly a market for it.First of all, the app offers limited configuration options. Ideally, you could turn off or alter the internet detection settings, but you are stuck with the defaults. The timer option works fine. I tested the device over several days, with its own dedicated wifi router. When the internet was disconnected it would automatically power cycle the router within 1-5 minutes. GREAT! Exactly what it was designed to do. Unfortunately, it does not do it reliably. A few times during the test it reset for no observable reason, internet was not lost, yet off it goes, killing my healthy connection. Another two times after being plugged in for several hours it turned off and stayed off. Totally unresponsive. I had to unplug it, wait, and plug it back in again to get it to work.My advise to the consumer: don't buy it.My advise to the developer: The relay appears to be disconnected by default and only turns on the appliance when signal is received to the relay coil from the controller. I would say this is a good situation for a smart plug, because in the case of internal failure, the device will not power on the appliance. In the case of a router, the relay should be the style wherein the circuit is always completed and the appliance is on, then only when the relay coil is energized is power to the appliance disconnected. In a situation such as this where the appliance will be on 99% of the time, this makes much more sense from an engineering point of view. Also, if the electronics fail, the device would keep the router on instead of killing a potentially active internet connection. Also, in the case where an internet failure is detected, the device ought to wait a few moments, and ping another couple servers to ensure the entire internet is really down. In a case where the one server happens to be down, there ought to be a fail-safe to ensure it doesn't test a false negative. Some ability to configure the sensitivity of the device would be nice. The device is also not compatible with separate modem/router or Router/Ap configurations. It did not allow me to connect it to the modem alone as it would not reset the wifi signal and the device was not able to function in this situation.Lastly, the app requires access to your device location. I cant think of a single reason why this is necessary. For a smart device that is inside your home able to listen in on your wifi signal, this is a huge red flag for the privacy conscious.

Hoping for More
Anticipation: 1) reboot on a schedule 2) reboot when it detects no wifi.Phone app load with no issues.Reboot on a schedule with no issues.Reboot with it detects no wifi, does not exist.I see NO configuration for "when wifi does not exist".

Greatest product ever bought in the electronics section
We have a vacation home that we monitor by wifi. In the mountains the wifi frequently goes out and we were left with driving up to unplug the router to reset if we needed it during bad weather, etc. This product works exactly as advertised. Even if it is in your personal residence, why not alleviate the aggravation?

Don't waste your time or money
First off my Career is IT and this thing is a headache. The instructions tell you to scan a QR code to download the app called REC. In the app it doesn't show a wifi reset device. If you go on Google play the company has 2 other apps one that doesn't work at all and one that does show the device type. It will connect only after using the smartlink V2. I did a little test and it will only restart if wifi is out, if the internet goes out it does nothing.

Damn Ankuoo, tidy up your act and provide at least semi-decent documentation
This is a really messy product. If you are using iOS devices, good luck, not sure how this works with Android devices. You will have to configure this device in AP mode only and that too only via an iPad and hopefully not too many multiple iterations of AP. iPhones will not be able to configure this device.

No support. Out of business?
Notifications don’t work. Help section of app does not work. Ankuoo.com company website is no longer registered. And Support email is undeliverable.

Garbage unit
As an IT person for 25+ years this is one of the biggest pieces of junk I've bought, it's going back. The configuration is a complete joke, no good documentation and it's buggy as hell. AVOID!!!

Horrible device - does not work at all - DO NOT BUY
Let me begin by saying that I have an advanced understanding of home networking solutions and was not at all confused by this device. The problem is that this device simply DOES NOT WORK.I tried a multitude of different configurations, and absolutely nothing worked. In order to even have the app recognize the device, I had to disable smart connect on my router, cross my fingers, and try three times. Even then, it wouldn't restart my router when I triggered an intentional connection loss.0/10, horrible device. Do not buy under any circumstances. Frankly wouldn't even make for a great paperweight.
