Like this little flashlight primarily for the yellow light which is easier on the eyes. Appears sturdy. Very compact easy to leave on bedside table or for travel use. Like that it has 3 brightness settings the only thing is even the lowest is still rather bright so I just shade with part of my hand. Haven't had long so not sure about the battery life or water resistance.

As you get older your ability to see contrast decreases.Small print pops out when you shine the amber light.I'm 72 and blue flashlights do not illuminate anything for me.Sometimes I don't even know that I've turned it on.I only write reviews when something really pops and this light makes everything pop out of the dark.

Both of the flashlights work great. My kid uses them for reading at night. However, I would suggest not using the supplied battery that comes with them... Both flashlight batteries burst in the battery compartment in short order and spewed corrosive innards all over the inside of the flashlight. I cleaned it out carefully and replaced with a more reputable brand and it works fine again.

I lost my old yellow flashlight and needed a new one. I almost did not buy this one becase of the negative reviews. These flashlights far exceed anything I could have hoped for. They do not have an aluminum smell, the are super bright and most of all the are perfect for my eyes being I cannot take white/blue lights! I would recommended them to everyone I know! I will use these at night when I need to get up and don't want the white light waking me up by overstimulating my brain.

I bought this because I like a dark bedroom, but have to get up in the middle of the night to pee. After banging my shin, I bought this, hoping it wouldn't be too bright nor mess up my going back to sleep.Works great. If I could have it better for my purposes, I would love that selecting the dimmest setting would stick every time I turned it on, instead of having to cycle. I did figure out I can cycle the brightness settings without the button clicking each time, but still. It would be nice.Also, a super duper dim setting would be awesome, but I know that's reaching for the stars! I love it, and the extra one will go into my camping bag, where I probably will appreciate the brightness levels.

UPDATE: The pocket clip broke on one of them. Not fell off or came loose. The metal broke. I don't think I have ever had that happen before.I sure wanted to be happy with this because it's the only amber flashlight option other than the larger kind with the terrible 3-AAA caddy.The LED assembly in the first one I tried is mounted way too deep and the beam is significantly more narrow than similar products at the widest setting.The light is also much less consistent even compared to other low-cost lights. I am guessing this is caused by the LED being so far back. It has more of a bright outer ring and a bright spot near the middle with darker areas in between.I opened the second one, hoping the first was just defective, and it's even worse. This style flashlight has a thin metal sheet (with hole for the LED to stick through) to hold the whole assembly in place. The second light had the LED even further back, and the metal sheet was pressed in hard enough to have dents (probably from mashing against the parts underneath).If you want a lens-style flashlight for a wide even beam, this one is turned out by the worst factory to make that sort of thing. I hope someone decent starts making a better version of this.

As always, Hooga always delivers a quality product.Almost everything today, in terms of lighting, comes at temperatures of 5000K or colder (up to 6500K). I am a fan of 2,700K to 4,500K lighting because they don't have any blue (or cold) undertones to them. The 2,700K range starts getting very yellowish or orangish, and that may be too much for some people, but these really look great in the dark and are very easy on the eyes.I have many Hooga products that fall in the warm light range, and they are great to have around.
