The MS1 Padded Sling is an optimized, adaptable two-point sling. Built around our MS1 slider, this system provides rapid adjustments to either lengthen or shorten the sling with no slipping once set, and no tails, loops, or other potential snag hazards. In a two-point role, the MS1 allows easy shoulder transitions, rapid adjustability for hands free rifle carry and shooting support from various positions. The MS1 system also has a series of adapters that are sold separately and based on the MS3 and MS4 slings. By adding the appropriate adapter (available with Paraclip or QD Sling Swivel) for the sling, you can easily add functionality to your MS1.

A fantastic sling, NOT a carry strap
This is my second padded ms1 sling and my fourth of the series overall. I really like this sling and the entire line of slings from Magpul. It's construction is very high quality and it adjusts very easily. I also like that it's a true sling and not just a carry strap. Many people complain that this sling is too long, but it's supposed to be long because it's a true sling. A sling is meant to keep the firearm connected to your body while you are shooting. The ms1 sling connects to the side of your gun, not the bottom. It mounts with the padded end toward the butt of the gun, and you carry the firearm across your chest with the sling running across your back diagonally. You tighten the sling while carrying the firearm or using you hands for another task. You then loosen the sling to raise the gun and shoot, all while never taking it off your body. There are other types of slings that are meant to be used as a shooting aid, but this is not one of those. They are both slings however, because they remain attached to your body while shooting. Most of the people complaining about the length of the ms1 are actually confusing it with a carry strap. A strap is a simple piece of material that is used to hold a firearm on your shoulder. They are much shorter because they only need to be long enough to hold a gun in place while it is being carried, not shot. The ms1 can be used as a carry strap by removing the slider adjustment. The padded section is 46 inches long, which is more than long enough to be used as a strap, and Magpul even calls this section a "carry strap" in the instruction manual. If you want to retain the adjustability features of the sling but with the shorter length of a carry strap, you can simply cut the sling to length and melt the ends so they don't fray.

It is a Magpul - its great!
It is a Magpul, so what else needs to be said. The padded area is 2" wide and there is no seams in the strap (other than the rectangles sewn in to keep padding in place) and the total length of the strap is 72". This strap is identical to the MS1 strap except for the padding. Unless you absolutely need the padding (for whatever reason) save the 15-20 dollars and get the MS1. To be honest I bought this to put on my M1 Garand because I had a shoulder operation and the standard USGI 1" strap hurt. This 1 1/4" strap fits just fine in the 75 year old swivels. I also have a 3 MS3 Gen1 single point slings in my ARs and tactical shotgun that I loved until I got hung up on the loop once. I've since removed all the Paraclips from the MS3 Gen1s and installed them on MS1 slings to make them MS1 Gen2 slings. Much happier without the loops to get hung up on and the adjustable slider works great.

Great for my Magpul MPR 556 setup
Best harness you can use for an AR setup. Worth the money. Just pay for the better product. You will end up with it no matter what anyways. Great quality. Super comfortable

I definitely would buy again.
This is a perfect sling for a heavy long rifle. Amazing comfortability plenty points of adjustments. The hardware does not feel cheap and the design is very well-thought-out.

Awesome!
Bought to use on a very heavy rifle. Other slings would dig into my shoulder. With this sling I can walk all day in comfort.

Good sling but not my favorite from Magpul
Good brace but you can get cheaper ones out there that will work just the same and that will come with attachments. If you are a Magpul fanboy like I am then you will go with this one like I did. Overall not bad but not my favorite sling from Magpul.

Great sling, but very long
Great sling, but very long. If you are short in stature and/or don't have much gear on, this sling may be too long.

Great sling slow shipping.
The sling is great as is all Magpul's products are, but the shipping was slower than The Pony Express. In 1860 the Pony Express could go coast to coast in ten days. It took my sling ten days to go from Lexington, KY US to North Louisiana US. I just wasn't happy with the shipping.
