These are classic latex rubber hot water bottles. Actual rubber is MADE FROM LATEX, you can't get a "rubber" hot water bottle that is latex free. Be aware, though, that you can buy thermo-plastic or silicone hot water bottles as an alternative. These have a mild rubber odor, but I'm quite sensitive to smells and can live with it (especially because I always cover the bottle when in use.)I have a mild latex allergy, and I will react if I touch these directly, so be careful if you are allergic. I have one cover that came with a different HomeTop bottle that also fits on these, but I also use any of the three by sticking them inside a pillowcase and folding in the ends so I don't accidentally brush against the latex rubber. With a cover over the bottle and having my husband fill it for me, I do not react to the covered latex. (I.e., it's a contact issue, not particles floating around in the air.)I appreciate that all of the HomeTop classic hot water bottles, regardless of color, use the same stoppers. In the past, we had several hot water bottles purchased one at a time from different drug stores. The stoppers looked very similar, but would leak on the wrong bottle. That annoying issue caused me to buy three HomeTop bottles at one time in hopes of interchangeable stoppers. Finally, I've solved this problem!One minor annoyance--though NOT worth dinging this product any stars--is that the longer, skinnier, higher capacity HomeTop Premium 2.25 Liters Rubber Long Hot Water Bottle USES A DIFFERENT SIZE STOPPER. That bottle is the best one for someone who sleeps cold as it distributes the heat along more of the body, but I find it aggravating that a company wouldn't standardize a part that could get lost or be accidentally tried in the wrong bottle.We have always used hot water bottles to pre-warm the bed (and keep cold feet from harassing partners) in our home, which is why I own half a dozen in total. I also have arthritis and often use one on the couch in the evening. We can lower our thermostat, save money, and stay comfortable.These days, with one of my kids learning in person at school but OUTDOORS due to the pandemic, I send a hot water bottle with him every morning. Even on pleasant days, it is quite brisk in New England outside at 8 am. Works great. I bought the 2 bottels set (pink and white) to keep my bed warm. My room has powerful AC heater but I hate it makes my skin and throat extremely dry in the morning. It's also myamazing supporters when it comes to my time of the month. They say things about the caps or smells but mine, so far, have never given any troubles. I think it's a little too pricy for the products but I couldn't find any better choces out there so, I'm good. Also, I wish I could choose color combinations, like white and white. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase!
