Nice for older classic car owners
I wanted a simple set of tools for my 1976 MGB that was small, not expensive and would allow me to do emergency work. I have a full on took kit in my garage but I wanted something I could toss in the trunk. My car is OLD and while it has never given me any trouble on my weekend drives, it does have a Lucas electrical system, so failure is in inevitable. I was a bit worried about the low price, but this is actually a very nice kit and everything is built well. Note: If you have a newer car that is based on metric size sockets, this will not be the best choice. But if you have a classic car with SAE size bolts, this may be the best thing going. I hope I never have to use it! UPDATE: My daughter just got her 1st apartment. I wanted her to have a small economical tool set so I ordered this for her. It is VERY complete and will give her just about everything she will need to complete simple tasks without taking up much room. SHE LOVES IT!

Pretty good for the price
Disclaimer: Received this, checked it out, threw it in my trunk for emergencies. Haven't used it yet. Most tools look to be average quality. I bought this as an emergency kit for my car, so I'm not planning on using these every day. Honestly, I bought it as much for the convenient packaging/bundling of the minimum set of tools I'd be willing to schlep around all the time. I already have an emergency triangle and jumper cables, so most of these roadside kits come with stuff I already have. After looking at Walmart and NAPA and online, I wasn't able to find another kit that filled this niche in a nice, portable package. It fits in the little space above my spare tire, so that's good. In other words, this wasn't exactly what I wanted, but I acquiesced when I couldn't find anything better without spending much more. Given the low price (and low expectations), I think this is a good buy and worth 4 stars, even if not the best quality. The socket pieces are not metric, so I hope that isn't a problem on my foreign cars. I thought of just replacing them, but many are held in place by a rubber holder that is designed for their exact sizes. I am planning to add a basic adjustable wrench to the kit. The ratchet wrench seems to be especially low quality. As I turned the knob to change from one direction to the other, the whole thing wiggled around in a way that seemed like it was about to totally fall apart. Changing directions is difficult, and it seems to get stuck on the middle setting (no ratcheting). I will be watching the bargain bin at my local Ace to potentially replace tools or add to the kit. The really obvious thing it is missing is a knife. I always keep a pocket knife in my glove box anyhow, but it seemed like a little utility knife would've been a good addition. When I opened it, many of the pieces had come out of their holders in the case. From the factory to the warehouse to shipping to my door, this was understandable, but I envision this will be an issue as it rides around in my trunk. Overall, though, the case is nice and should hold the pieces in place through mild jostling. I found the zip ties they used to seal the case shut were a little tricky to get off with a knife, but not a really big deal.

Handy and a value for the price
I purchased this kit specifically because of the price. That is the main reason why I rated it so highly. I wanted a kit to throw into my hardware bag for musical performances because I am always in the need of a small tool to repair a stand, pedal or other small issue. This kit contains ninety percent of what I need to effect those repairs. The kit is a lot heavier than I expected, and the tools are actually a cut above what I thought I would be getting. If properly cared for they should last years if used for occasional minor repairs. Note that these are SAE sizes, so if you are purchasing it for vehicles make sure that your vehicle does not use metric sizes. Also be aware that this is not a complete kit. It has the essentials for most minor repairs and temporary fixes. For a comprehensive kit you will need to either add to this or look elsewhere. One final note: mine came with a nearly invisible plastic tie that needed to be snipped before I could open the case. I thought the zipper was broken, but on closer examination the tie prevented it. I am guessing it is used to keep the case closed during shipping. Other than that I have no complaints and am thinking of getting another for home use.

Decent basic tool set that can double as a storage case.
I'm barely a DIY guy and just wanted to keep basic tools in my car for the sake of having tools. I do my own oil, brakes, rotors, lights, fluids, and other simple maintenance. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of buying this tool kit for a Japanese made car. Most of the inside of the car and lighting is tool free assembly, but I couldn't even take off the engine cover using this kit (I needed 10mm). The bits are SAE so I ended up swapping out a few SAE bits with ones from a loose metric set if an exact fit was needed. Everything generally stays in place by Velcro and/or stretchy nylon although there is excessive space which could have been better utilized by design. And cable ties take up too much room. However, the a good thing about having a zipper type case is the freedom to store random small things like bulb grease, tweezers, box cutters, small flashlight, band aids, gloves or whatever, and they won't fall out or get crushed. You couldn't do that in a solid pre-molded case. The case itself is just 2 pieces of heavy cardboard in a nylon binder. Nothing fancy considering it's low cost. You can likely just replace the case with an old trapper keeper to get even more space. To improve this kit, I would have liked a small mesh pocket compartment to store tiny miscellaneous items, easier to remove bits, at least 1 torque wrench extension bar, and of course make it metric :( I don't see a metric equivalent to this tool kit and price. It's still a good deal. The pieces are quality made and shiny.

Good one
Excellent kit, just I would prefer a softer case, for easier storage. But contains all you need.
