It made a wonderful Christmas gift.
I had a little problem with lining up the screws during assembly; however, managed to complete the job as directed. My children love it. It performs exceptionally well and looks very elegant.

Looks Great!
Almost didn’t buy cause of some of the reviews, all not true this mailbox was so easy and sturdy and well made so glad I did buy it at such a bargain price.Maybe they didn’t follow the instructions. One thing I did was put the post together and put in a 20” hole to make sure how much to cut off a 8’ 4x4 post measured and took back out of hole took top sleeve off then I cut excess post off with a Chainsaw I did not take bottom sleeve off just pulled it up some so out of way to put post in ground with quick set cement, leavened it up then slid bottom down to ground let dry before continuing with instructions, one other tip when sliding the roof on the box two sets of hands help because the back wall sets up 1/2” so someone needs to push up on the back while someone is sliding the roof to get over the lip. Hope this is helpful.

Just installed—happy, but will monitor sturdiness and color fading
This mailbox is as attractive looking as the photos give off. I purchased this because of the appropriate size of the box paired with the larger post. For those who may not have read the description, this is a post cover with box mount. You will need a 4x4 post to complete installation. It installs easily though many tools are needed: a drill with 1/8 bit, impact driver, ratchet with a 1/2 inch and 3/16 inch head, an adjustable wrench and a flathead screwdriver. I used a metal post mount which sank 30 inches down so I didn’t have to use concrete to set the post. If you chose this route, cut the post to 54”, though 48” will work. It will be sturdier. Once set up, there is MINOR give when pushing on the sides of the box. This is my only qualm—it is not as sturdy as a box mounted to a wooden post with cross member. However, it is about as much give as a thin metal pole or H frame. Would recommend if you do not want rust. Will wait to see if sunlight fades color of plastic.

considerably larger than you standard mailbox. Very, very easy to install don’t be intimidated
This is humongous! It’s nice, but consider where you’re putting it and it’s surroundings. I got it for a Gothic look, but it overwhelms and detracts from the focal point, the door.I installed it on the post my old mail box was on, now it’s too close to the door.I posted a picture how you can easily elongate your post if it’s not 48 inches tall. Check the scrap wood pile at Lowes or Home Depot - you can buy a few inches for a couple bucks. The metal pieces are cheap.Very easy to install, gather the right tools it won’t even take 20 minutes. Use electric screwdriver and some screws require a hex bit, makes things much easier.I did not have a problem sliding the pieces over the 4 x 4, if you do give it a bear hug and slightly tug down on it. A trick for putting the box together: temporarily put duct tape to hold it together, be sure to leave the Mailbox door open, butt against the wall then push.

Too hard to assemble and Cheap quality
I’m going to start by saying that I usually ignore negative reviews based on how hard items are to put together. I’m usually thinking “How hard can it really be?” and “What is the function and beauty once it’s together?”. But if I had known how hard this was going to be, and how cheap the box itself is, I would NOT have bought it.This was EXTREMELY hard to put together, it took us two days total. My husband kept saying “Ugh, this is so cheap!” in frustration. The hardest part is getting the mailbox over the piece of wood, and getting the correct size piece of wood. I originally bought a 4x4 that it slid over pretty easily (my fault for not doing the math correctly) but the wood has to go into the ground 18-24 inches AND be tall enough to hold up the mailbox, and for the mailbox to screw into it. The correct size to buy is 4x6 and then cut it to fit. The bigger size was also fatter in our case and my husband really struggled to get it to fit over the wood. I’m short (4 11’) and would not have been able to do it at all, period. The whole thing was hard to assemble and took a lot of brut force. It’s put together now and LOOKS good, but what I hate most is that it’s hard to open (I have to force it each time) and I’ve had to tighten the knob to open it once a week since installation. If it came pre-assembled I’d give it 3 Stars. I really hate how cheap / hard to open the door is.

Special Delvery
huge sturdy mailbox. Very easy to install. You may need a longer post if you want it at the delivery driver's truck height. The oversized box is great for small and medium packages. Cheaper than in the local store.
