Small but surprisingly workable
I like this small little thing. The small size normally would equate to a super cramped keyboard. The primary keys are of a fairly standard size. It obviously doesn't have all the functionality of a normal PC keyboard. One thing I do miss is the 10 key, especially typing in the dark.Once you get used to the key setup (customizable) you can easily maneuver around with many of the same commands that work for internet browsers. The battery life on this is pretty decent, lasting several hours of light use (ie: Facebook or typing on Google Docs). Speaking of Google Docs you can set any documents you wish to be offline for use when your wifi is not available. Also you can download movies purchased through Google Play for offline viewing. It deserves noting that you obviously can't download or install regular software to this device. I attempted to locate good software for voice recording but there really isn't anything out there for that. All in all I really like this, it's something that can fit in my backpack, works really well and I've had next to no problems with.Primary uses: Typing and internet surfing. Also light streaming.

My Second Chromebook
I bought this to replace my trusted 2014 HP Chromebook, which worked brilliantly until I accidentally destroyed it in the most hilarious way possible (it ended up in a load of laundry). My desktop PC does all my heavy lifting, and this Chromebook is just perfect for everything else. Great battery life, a decent keyboard, and a great price make this an excellent alternative to tablets for those who, like me, are accident-prone and who dislike touchscreen interfaces. It's not the most rugged machine ever, and it does suffer some serious slowdown on various websites or if too many tabs are open (it really seems to hate Flash, even with a Flash-disabling tool installed). But it's very portable, lightweight, and suitable for everyday browsing. Ideal for kids, students, and seniors, or as a second laptop that can be easily used around the house.

HP ChromeBook 11 G4
HP ChromeBook 11 G4 -- as new to chromebook format, however, online since circa '95... PC, Unix, Dial-up... I was impressed. The price matters quite a bit for me, -- great at this price point <175.Time will tell... but currently, first day's impressions, -- impressed.I don't like that, all of what I do on this unit is collected into the great i-cloud kahoona in the skynet machine people realm. However, I do lead a dull life, so no worries for me. However, be aware you are a google-captive and only use "it", by "them". It's an interesting model, you pay them to collect data they survive upon. Big brother is here with all the aunts, uncles and cousins too!Anyway, aside from that caveat, -- I am impressed with performance and usability, google-docs, et al. and for essentially "no money"... they'll be giving these away eventually? LOL!

Returning ASAP
Very skinny and small computer so it fits into my purse easily!! I;m super over having a briefcase! The keypads are the bomb!! Like butter. You seriously can just tap each key and words on the screen appear! I thought the best ergonomic laptop. WRONG!! The mouse pad is nice and the cursor is smooth but OMG let me tell you about L and R clicking!!! I dread every time I have to click guys!!! Like OMG it's painful.Like I've only had this computer for 24 hours, and after 10 minutes I immediately purchased another one. I will be returning this one STAT. Also, no word/powerpoint. This is a real live GSuite computer. I don't even think I can download anything on here.No caps lockno left click to spell check

This computers does this wonderfully, I have had no problem with this computer ...
I bought this computer for my college classes. I needed a computer that was able to stream google Docs. and research quick enough to keep up with classroom discussions. This computers does this wonderfully, I have had no problem with this computer running everything i need it to run, witch includes around 2 google docs. pages, at least 4 research pages and my pandora. This laptop runs all of that without any kind of trouble. the wake up is under 10 seconds and the shut down takes only 3 seconds. I purchased the wifi version instead of the LTE version just to specify. The one question I did not find the answer to on this page or googles, is how good is the battery life. I can tell you truthfully that I would not be afraid of taking this computer to school without the charger because the battery is that good. On a 100% charge the computer tells me i have just under 8 hours left. but you can stretch that for as long as you need because the shutdown and startup are so quick. I have gone to a total of 32, two and one half hour classes on one complete charge to dead. The only thing that I would like changed is the storage. 16 gb of storage is not a lot, even if you have the terabyte of cloud storage, this does not help with apps. I reached my limit rather quickly, but this does not bother me so much because I can have the apps on my smart phone instead and this is my second computer. I purchased this as my portable note taker and researcher when I cant use my desktop. I could not find a better students laptop for students. I also found the stamp on the bottom of my computer that tells me that this is indeed a g4 edition. hope this helps and sorry it is long.

It turned out not to be good for my needs
I thought that this small laptop would be perfect for me to transport to and from school, as I am not a Mac user and no longer have a school Mac in my classroom. The first thing that I discovered was that the grade-book download was not supported by the Chromebook operating system (only Windows or Mac). I continued to run into this problem of an operating system that could not support the work I purchased it to do. I tried to be informed before I made my purchase but had no idea that I had made such a bad choice. My brother-in-law has a Chromebook and loves it. I am not saying that it is a bad product, it was just the wrong one for me.
