Pondered both petroleum and electric. Really glad I went with this. Very easy to set up chain tension and prep for use. Cutting was fantastic, first job was a cherry tree about 15” trunk, no problem at all. Used for about 2 hours and whole tree down and cut up for log shed. Worked perfectly.

Upgraded from a 20 year old Black & Decker. Very powerful motor, used for 6 hours solid on the first day without any issues. Cut through 600mm trunk no problem. Used to cut a whole 50 year old windfall Silver Birch into lengths ready for splitting and stacking.Chain does stretch in first hour of use so periodically check the tension and adjust. The adjustment is really easy and tool free.Highly recommend for the heavy DIY user.Great value for money.

A decently powerful, well-built electric chainsaw. Feels as if it will outlast the DIY store cheap no-names that have let me down in the past.

Was a bit dubious about the power this would have versus a petrol chainsaw. Shouldn't have worried. Cut through large logs easily, chain easy to adjust and oil doesn't fling everywhere like it did with our petrol chainsaw. Bought this as starting a petrol one was becoming a challenge. Really like the fact that blade stops instantly. Wish we had bought ages ago!

Strong tool. Easy to assemble cuts large hardwood logs with no problem at all. As good as my petrol Shil. I bought this to cut logs in the garden ideal as the saw is quiet.

Great for a week then terrible. Had new chain and re dressed the bar. Nope. Waiting for customer service. Been a week and no reply.

A cracking good strong chainsaw. Needed it to reluctantly saw down a small tree whose roots were pushing up pavings & growing under the house. Really great saw.

looked at all sorts of chain saw to replace my old Bosch electric chain saw, looked at the new ones (Bosch) + some other makes of electric chain saw but the reviews weren't very good some of the old brand names other than the chain you couldn't get spare parts for i.e. they are disposable when worn out.Looked at petrol etc but took a chance on this Oregon so far it has performed brilliantly it did trip the electrics a couple of times BUT now it has loosened up it works as expected.The chain is easy to adjust doesn't need a spanner and screwdriver like my old saw.
