Leader Hose 5/8" X 6'

My wife thought I was joking when told I'd ordered Leader Hose. She thought I'd bought some traditional German pants. This hose is just the ticket. I only gave it 4 stars because it's not industrial strength. Not industrial price either. I also replaced the plastic washer with a rubber one, solving a bit of a seal issue. The black color makes it disappear in the garden. All round, a happy camper

Products obviously change over time. At this time (March, 2016) the hose I received was black and had metal fittings at both ends with a good quality washer in the female fitting. I attached it to our spigot on one end and our hose reel on the other using Teflon tape. The metal ends fit snugly and sealed without leaking, even though our city water has very high pressure. Unrolling the full length (300') of the hose from the reel and then rewinding it all caused only a single drop of water to appear under the leader hose fitting which I consider an unequivocal success. And it is made in the U.S.A.We'll see how it holds up, but for now: so far so good.

The leader hose that came with my hose reel was stiff as a board. I purchased this one in hopes of getting one that was more flexible. It is. The brass hardware is a little on the cheap side and will cause you to be careful, but it works fine so far and there has been no leakage at my connections. Given the price, it's a pretty good value.

The quality of the hose is good - seems to be very decent quality rubber and sturdy. However, the listing did not indicate that the color of the item shipped might not match the item description. I received a brown hose, not a black one. A black hose was specifically why I chose this item, so I was a little disappointed.

Very nice leader hoses for light/medium duty. They always come in handy as reel leaders that seem to wear out so easily. My particular need was for a means to hook up a pressure washer in an area without a water supply and inaccessible to my garden hose. I found a way to tap into my dripline using this product. Neat solution, for occasional use. These are very well made and couple to each other readily. The fittings are brass and include washers, all ready to go.

we installed this in a sheltered corner of the yard & it sat mostly undisturbed working fine for 6 years, but when we went to attach it to a new faucet coupling today the "male" end sprang leaks and it's no longer usable.

I currently use this to run from my dehumidifiers drain to the drain on the floor in my basement. Works great for the job, I have had no issues with the hose at all. Just know this is only 6' long, if you want to put your dehumidifier far away from a drain then you will need to buy something longer like a garden hose.

It has done the job we needed it to do. We left it out this winter which was not the best idea; however it is still working now that it is warmer and spring is arriving.
