Not slip proof
My carpets are still making me slide and fly around my house like cirque du soleil.

Didn't work for us on a landing
Based on reviews, I thought this would work great on our landing. Got a Pottery Barn wool rug and placed this over top. However, every time we go up or down the stairs and step on landing (hardwood), we have to adjust the rug to cover the pad.Defeats the purpose. True, we're not skidding on the floor, but it's a pain. The rug is not attractive, and to bend over and move it every few times (this is after a few times) is annoying. We used it a few weeks, trying placing a bench on the landing, etc. to keep the rug from shifting, etc. but what is point of a non skid rug for underneath if you have to do this?No one is running up and down stairs. This is just going up and down slowly. So I did return it. Will look for something a little better.Works for others, just not us. We have a Mohawk one under our other PB rug that seems far more effective in our living room. It just doesn't come in this size unfortunately. It also was thicker which I preferred - this one offered no cushioning underfoot.

Works like a charm on my tile floor!
My front door mat was sliding all over the place and driving me crazy. This was a last ditch effort to get a bit more life out of it and I didn’t have high hopes. Two months in and I’m soooo glad I bought it! Our mat is rubber-backed and we have a tile floor. No more sliding! Better than double-sided tape that leaves a residue! When I go to adjust the mat for cleaning, it sticks like it’s got adhesive.I would recommend buying a pad that’s slightly larger than your mat and cutting it down to size. I went cheap and bought the next size down, but I can see where the mat sits under the pad because it’s slightly raised there.

Highly recommend
I got this in both the 3x5 and 2x4, one for a carpet in the bedroom, the other for the bath mat. They are a surprisingly good thickness and have some cushioning. These rug mats really work great! My cats chase each other and run like crazy and the carpets no longer slide into a bundle up against the wall. My bedroom is hardwood and the bathroom is tile, it works well on both! For my larger living room carpet that is thinner I opted for a felt carpet pad because I thought it would be best for something thicker on a larger carpet (5x7). If you have a smaller carpet go for it, it works great and is easy to cut into any size you need.

Works Perfectly
I recently purchased an area rug for a bedroom with hardwood floors however the rug had no grip and kept sliding over the floor which was a safety hazard. Bought this product, put it under the rug and voila - no more sliding. Looks like it could be cut to size if you had an odd shaped rug. Can't beat the price. Great purchase.
