The intent message of the book is fantastic, however it offers a poor flow between passages, and as a soccer fanatic you encounter historical discrepancies all around. Overall disappointment in this text

Money can buy football, but money can't buy the love of football. This book explains why and how, in the most fascinating way. Surely one of the most relevant books on the subject this football scholar has ever read.

Great overview of how politicians and corporations are trying to do for soccer what they did for music, take all the fun out of it and marginalize amateurs.

This book deserves 5 stars just for the level of reseach put in to it. A very enjoyable read. An excelent football book that mixes politcs with football.
