I purchased these grinders a year and a half ago and wrote a negative review on their customer service. I am writing again to rescind that one. Unfortunately the owners of the company had a family tragedy and had to travel to another country to take care of things. This is the reason why customer service did not respond to my emails. Also, I was upset that the salt grinder stopped working. A brush is included with the grinders for a reason. Regular cleaning is essential to maintaining this great product. I also fixed the issue with my salt grinder by cleaning it well and applying a very small amount of rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and cleaning the battery area. Grinder works perfectly! I don’t think this will be necessary again if I make sure to use the brush regularly. The main reason for this review is about their customer service and a great product. After they returned to the US, the owner of the company personally called me to apologize for the delay in responding to my emails. I love how neat this set sits on my counter in the holder! I have arthritis and a regular grinder is difficult for me to use. These grinders are so easy to use. Great product!

Very easy to use. Awesome value for your money.Also they are very sturdy and pretty on top of my counter. I would recommend these to everyone I know. Christmas is coming and I’m buying some for my parents and my 3 sisters. They will love how easy they are to use. And how elegant they look on the counter. Thank you Zirroc Co. and Amazon. **12.3.24 UPDATE: Received the replacement salt shaker tonight. Unfortunately, I had to seek a replacement set from another vendor. I still have not received any further correspondence from the seller. Proceed with caution. **I purchased the set in October 2023. In late October 2024, the salt grinder broke. I cleaned it, changed the batteries, etc., but there was still no salt grinding. I contacted Zirocc Customer Service about a replacement grinder using their lifetime warranty. I began this contact on November 4, 2024. Below is the transcript of my attempts to get a replacement grinder. It is the day before Thanksgiving, and I still do not have a working salt grinder. I tried contacting Amazon, as "Sam" said it was Amazon that was the issue...they have no record of "Sam" ordering a replacement for me. At this point, keep your replacement and just issue me a refund. I had to order another set (from a different vendor) so I will have a working set to use. I have not received one replacement let alone to 10 you thought would ship. This is poor customer service. Thanksgiving is coming up and I don’t have a working salt grinder.

Right after I purchased this set, I found a set at Aldi for about $5 less. All things being equal, this set is nicer, has a handy holder to put them in and a spoon to fill with. I find however the Aldi set has some advantages. This set turns on when you invert the shaker, it grinds salt or pepper in prodigious amounts, much more than you would ever do with a manual pepper mill. That can be somewhat regulated, but no matter what you do, there will be some left over salt or pepper on the top of the mill, I find this does not look neat or clean. Short of vacuuming it off, you cannot get rid of it because if you turn it upside down to get rid of the excess grind, it grinds more. There is no switch to keep the unit turned off, again fine some of the time but the lack of control really makes this unit imprecise and messy.A button to turn the unit on or off would make this a much better mill. Also, a speed control to regulate the amount of grind would be helpful. It would also be good to have caps to keep the product fresh. The cheaper unit seemed to have all those, except some sort of grind speed control. I find myself using the Aldi units much more just because I can be certain no to grind too much pepper or salt onto my food and they clean up much nicer. Too bad they don’t have any more.The chrome holder is nice so you can bring them to the dinner table. Having to clean them after each use just seems so unnecessary and makes them always look dirty. Imagine the horror on your guests face when you tell them “here is some fresh ground black pepper, don’t mind the stale pepper on the top of the mill”. Then to think about flies, grease and other things I am starting to make myself sick. I keep plastic bags on top of them to keep them clean and dust out of them.If you notice in the last 2 photos, the Aldi mills have nice caps on them to keep stuff out of the pepper (we grind several kinds of pepper, Szechuan, white, red, green,) It’s too bad because of those glaring design deficiencies I have to rate it 4 out of 5, although that being said seems a bit generous because the shortcomings really decrease the elegance of the mills, half the reason I chose this style.Also, stock up on batteries, each mill requires 6 AAA batteries. I am not sure how long they will last but with that many, I would expect them to last about a year. So far, they have held up well, they grind well, but for my elegant dinner parties, my guests will just have to do without because I could not have dirty looking pepper and salt mills on the table for my guests from the state department to use.
