Use for Driving ? YES
Awesome sunglasses. Great value for the money. They look cool, fit great, and are comfortable. Easily worn with a baseball cap with a curved bill. I drive for a living and use them on super sunny clear days for rural and freeway driving. They might be a bit overkill for crowded city driving with tall buildings all around. The side shields don't block your peripheral vision as drastically as you would think. The side shields have vent holes in them making it pretty easy to detect movement in your peripheral vision area. Contrary to another review ... the shields are removable. To remove the side shields all you have to do is loosen up the screws that hold the lenses in place, and they will slide out.My only complaint is that Julbo does not offer alti arc 4+ mineral lenses as an option. They did a small run of "Vermont Mythics" with those lenses in 2013. I have a pair of Mythics, they are a bit heavier than the polycarbonate ones .... but the vision is a touch more crisp and clear. A removable leather nose shield would be the icing on the cake for these sunglasses.

Functional and cool
I wear them while riding my motorcycle. I ride a cool looking V-Twin Cruiser, wear a half helmet and these glasses. They look way more solid then all the cheap ones I got before but I read a lot of bad reviews about their durability. So far so good.Visibility through the glass is great.I would personally prefer normal temples though, I don't need these grips because of the way I use it, with a motorcycle half helmet.A bit heavy.

Great for glaciers
Tl;dr if you are actually going to use these where they were designed to be used, buy them. If you want them for style only, read my dislikes.Like: exactly as described. Super dark. Great for snow glare. Side light blocking works as intended. Looks fantastic. Huge attention grabber and icebreaker in Starbucks haha. They fit fine and I have a wide head. The ear loops work well when you're running/jumping about.Dislike: every day wear is not too great if you keep the leather on. Does not fit while wearing a full faced helmet. I would never wear these while driving with the side shades on due to restricted vision. Also, walking down the sidewalk I have to take extra time to look for traffic because of this restricted vision. Also, walking around Los Angeles at sunset I can't see if anybody is approaching from the sides. Lessens awareness overall. Did not include a hard case for storage, just a soft sock.

Only lasted 6 months
First, I love these sunglasses. I switched to the Vermont from Julbo's Sherpa line. They are very stylish--I constantly get compliments on them--and they are also comfortable. However, this month (January), the right ear hook broke within the rubber sleeve. They are still functional, because the sleeve holds it together, but it's painful to look at the ear hook bending in an odd direction, like a small pet with a broken appendage. For the cost, I expected these to be more durable. I use them almost daily; even so, six months is far too short a time for their price. I will probably return to the Sherpa line, because they're less than half the price, and last far longer. Shame, because these wonderfully complimented my facial hair.UPDATE Aug 2021: Actually, I didn't return to my Sherpas back in 2019. I kept wearing these, and they continued to be quite functional. Recently, though, the rubber sheath covering the ear wires split open, allowing the wire end to poke through if it fiddle with them at all. This is likely the real end for these sunglasses, because I don't want to go around with scotch tape on my sunglasses. With the minor wear/breakage, they lasted through more than 2 years of almost daily use. That drove their price/value ratio up considerably for me. I'll be buying another pair. They're just too great to be without. :)

A retro headspinner that turns the world into HD
I wear these out on colder hikes such as winter expeditions in New Hampshire and hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa. Every time I wear them people are always asking me where I got them so that they can snag a pair because they're vintage look just never gets old. But aside from being a compliment-magnet, these are genuinely amazing lenses that put many sunglasses to shame with how clear and HD they feel. The side blockers are great for my very sensitive blue eyes. My only complaint is that after a while, they begin to feel uncomfortable behind the ear. I was hoping that the arms could be bent and morphed a little easier to fit my ear but alas every now and then I notice it putting pressure on the backside of my right ear. The nose bridge can also get heavy ever so slightly after a long period of wearing them, but nevertheless I still love these glasses.

On the fence for return
Can only go three stars for now since I feel a little misled about the glasses.Product title says black frame-black lenses w/ silver mirror. I took that as a black frame with black lenses with a silver mirror coating. The frames are in fact silver. Haven't decided if I like them enough with silver frames to keep them or return them and look for something different. Have to see if the silver grows on me for a moment. As far as the glasses go. They work as sunglasses and I'm sure the side protection will work as I want for wind while driving with the windows and sunroof open. they seem very sturdy and they fit nicely. But the shiny silver frame though.....The pics and description also state that it comes with a microfiber cleaning/ storage bag. Nope. It comes with a microfiber cloth which is fine, but something to keep track of. The storage bag is actually a stiff felt bag that doesn't leave much room for the cleaning cloth. Small detail, but when being outdoors and active, its something else to keep track of and have to deal with.
