A Few Notes...
First off, I think it's important to point out, this plastic model kit DOES have most of the features from the TOP GUN (1986) film EXCEPT it only includes one of the two pilots (the front pilot (Maverick) but does NOT include a pilot in the rear seat where Goose sits). The pilot model is very cheaply made and is a two piece (body + right arm). The pilot sits firmly in the cockpit, which is very detailed, assuming you can manage to get the annoying "waterslide" decals to apply without issue (there are a lot of super super small decals that go into the cockpit by the way). Both pilot seats need to be assembled and also include their flightsticks (which Maverick's right arm is made to grasp if assembled correctly (not hard, just pointing out)). Personally, I was a bit upset when realizing the model came with MAVERICK, but no rear seater where GOOSE sits, considering GOOSE was a major character for this plane in the film, plus the cockpit's canopy is transparent so you can easily see inside the seat's empty. Speaking of the canopy, I struggled assembling the canopy with it's 3 pieces, and ultimately wasnt able to put it together so that it opens and closes like it seems it was made to do. Also, the canopy doesnt seem to connect to the small front part of the 2-part transparent windows, at least not smoothly. It didn't seem to want to fit, so in the end I decided to force it to fit and cemented it closed. One last point regarding the canopy is the instructions suggest colors that do not match the film or real F-14a TOMCAT planes (example: the instructions want you to use BLACK PAINT to outline the transparent canopy but it should be a close grey that should nearly match the grey used on the hull. One last point: the wings are a bit annoying to assemble and the very difficult to attach to the main section. But they DO swing, however they tend to get stuck when fully opened. Many of the colors suggested in the instructions are odd and dont match the movie or real planes. Oh and it does have the pilots' names and callsigns under the canopy but again the decals are so annoying to apply.

Decals do not release from backing paper.
I would not recommend this kit. The decals will not release from the backing paper. Revells website is useless.
