Nice stand, Bad lightning cord
The desktop stand is nicely carved from a single piece of Aluminum and looks great! It holds the phone as well as most (the lightning plug provides some of the support). At first it was difficult to align the phone on the lightning plug but I got used to it. I like that it's heavy so I don't have to hold the stand while inserting and removing the phone; it has a great solid feel to it.GOOD NEWS: It comes with a lightning cable to charge your phone from a USB plugBAD NEWS: The lightning cable does not work. I measured it with a USB ammeter and the phone draws 0 milliamps via this cable - it is worthlessGOOD NEWS: It comes with an allen wrench that allows you to open the case and swap out the broken cord for a good one!BAD NEWS: The channel carved into the aluminum is too narrow for the Apple provided cord, so it doesn't fit rightGOOD NEWS: I was able to mostly close the bottom hatch with the cable only partly in its channel, and it seems to work fine now and sits squarely on my desk in spite of the fact that the bottom hatch is not tightBOTTOM LINE: Looks great but for this price it should work out of the box!

So many nights I put my phone on this to ...
PLEASE ONLY READ THE REVIEW FROM VERIFIED PURCHASERS - I wish I had!! So many nights I put my phone on this to wake up to an UNCHARGED phone. I have to keep repositioning this to get it to the right position to get it to charge. Not well designed.

Although it looks nice, it only works a quarter of the time ...
Unfortunately I bought this before there were any product reviews - that's the last time I do that. Although it looks nice, it only works a quarter of the time with a lot of jiggling the phone around in the charging base. A tool with an extra rubber pad came with it which included some very poorly written instructions on how to install your own "lighting" cable. Nothing was said in the description that said this had to be done for this charger to work. I'm returning mine and I would suggest you look at the other 5 star reviews carefully before buying one of these chargers. I am a verified customer and I'm not wasting anymore time trying to get this to work.

Have to continually open the bottom up and push the cord through, everytime you set the the phone into the cradle it pushed the cord end into the base. Not convenient.
