These worked really well for some research books and magazines I have above on a shelf above my desk. I am constantly pulling out one or two to look up information, and no longer have to worry about the rest falling over.

Bookends are not that technologically marvelous as they have been around for forever. There are basically two styles of bookends in terms of how they work: Type 1 - heavy weight so much so that each bookend is like a block that pushes on the book to prevent it from falling over. These are made to be large, heavy, decorative and usually made of stone, metal, or heavy wood. Then there's Type 2 - thin metallic or wooden piece that is light weight and does not "push" on the books, instead, it has a bottom piece for the book to sit on it, and the weight of the book stabilizes the bookend. The heavier the book, the "heavier" the bookend. Make sense?I like Type 2 better which is this pack of 4 pair of bookends. This type is more space saving. It's pushed up against the books and the weight of the books will hold the bookend steady. The metal is strong. The metal is coated with smooth matted metallic paint (non-glossy), and 4 little felt pads to protect the surface of the bookshelf. The package comes with 4 pairs which is actually 8 bookends. You need both bookends if the books are in the middle of the shelf. If you push books all the way to the sides against the wall or against the bookshelf itself, then you only need the one bookend--and that's how I am organizing my books right now. I like the middle of my bookshelf empty and all the books are lined up from the edge of the bookshelf. This package deal gave me 8 bookends to work with. It's a good deal.I happen to like the pattern design (trees) but that's a personal preference. I will attach some photos here for you to see. I love the tree-design of these beautiful bookends! As you can see, I got the black ones to match my black bookshelf and they fit right in! These book ends are sturdy, and don't feel like they will be giving-way. Plus! They have little feet on the bottom which both helps it from slipping AND protects whatever surface they happen to be on. I like that you can get these in a pack of 8. I have enough for my entire bookshelf (we got a lovely curvy bookshelf passed to us that doesn't have sides, so bookends are a necessity). They are lovely, heavy duty, and stylized. What's not to love?

Good sturdy metal frame soft pads underneath. I like the design on them, did not want a plain book end. I've got 10 ft book shelves, open on one end and ending at a wall on the other. One of these is holding up all of the books on the open end.

I've tried a few other book ends and I've found that these really are the best. The couple features I like the most are they fit under the books without anything sticking out onto the shelf behind it. That leaves the shelf free from obstacles if you want to place other items next to your books. And secondly the part that extends under the books is as wide as the book end so the book itself is sitting on a much wider piece of metal than some of the other book end designs. I think this is good for long term use, it won't tend to damage the book binding since the weight is distributed across a much larger surface.

These are definitely pretty bookends with an attractive design. They are sturdy and are great with most sizes and weights of books. I like that they don't hide much of the book so that you can see what is right next to it. We did order the set of 4 pairs so that was a reasonable per pair price. Order came quickly and well packaged. I would order these again.

Excellent bang-for-buck product. These are solid metal with slip resistant feet. I'm using them on open ended book shelves, some of which have hefty tomes and these book ends have no trouble holding them rock steady. They don't shift or slide, it takes actual effort to move these book ends around once they're in place.

I bought these bookends for my son's bookshelf. I have had bad luck with buying cheap bookends lately (I had to return other brands twice!), so I thought I'd pay a little bit more and try these. I am very happy with the quality and very happy with my purchase. They are lightweight but not flimsy, and hold up books well. I also like the design. Would definitely recommend.

Wir sind sehr zufrieden mit diesen Buchstützen!Wir haben bei unserer Renovierung einen Raum in eine kleine Bibliothek umgebaut (2 Wände voll mit Büchern) und brauchten einige Buchstützen. Sie sehen einfach super aus und schaffen wird Ordnung, keine nervigen umgekippten Bücher mehr.Da ich auch einige für meine Mangas abgezweigt habe, werden wir hier gerne noch mal nachbestellen.Sehr zu empfehlen!

Ich bin mit der Qualität der Buchhalter bisher total zufrieden. Die Verarbeitung ist auch im Detail sehr gelungen und sie sehen zudem auch optisch sehr gut aus. Passen bspw gut in unser Kinder Buchregal.

Light material strong, does not glide on surface, probably will last an eternity.
