Very sturdy, fairly easy to use, can remove a strand if not careful
This works great for stripping insulation off of large gauge wire like 6 AWG or 4 AWG. However, after you cut a ring around the jacket and try to cut a slit in the jacket by pulling it off the end, we ended up catching a single strand sometimes and pulling it off with the jacket.

works well on bigger cables
I used this on 2 AWG and 2/0 AWG cables. Works great after you get it adjusted.

Do not buy this.
**Review: Disappointing Wire Cutter - Not What It Claims to Be**I recently purchased this wire cutter, drawn in by the claim that it was made in Germany, but my experience has been quite frustrating. It's clear that this tool is actually manufactured in China, which is misleading and disappointing. The performance of the wire cutter is far from satisfactory. The blade struggles to cut through wire, and applying pressure only makes the situation worse. The tool tends to move around rather than providing a clean cut, and when I try to push harder to get through the wire, the adjuster shifts out of place, making the cutting process even more difficult.Overall, this wire cutter does not live up to its promises or expectations. It’s unreliable and poorly designed, and I would strongly advise against purchasing it. There are better options out there that actually deliver on their promises and provide a solid, functional tool.

Stripped 100ft of 6/4 SOOW
Needed to remove jacket from SOOW. I was able to score 100ft of it with some muscle and time. I then had two break the jacket open pulling the wire and jacket apart. I was afraid this stripper would break open due to the force I had to use during scoring but it held together and stayed sharp.

This thing doesn't like me.
Cheap, works, tends to spiral up the insulation because the blade is designed to swivel, instead of staying correctly oriented. The reason is skimping; there SHOULD be a tab or something to keep the blade straight, but it is directly attached to the adjuster, apparently. Anyhow, the price is nice but the function is very disappointing. On the other hand, some people love these; I am sure I can give it away instead of throwing it away. I have this sitting on my bench and I'm stripping wires with a razor blade again. At 20 bucks, no loss; if it was 40 I'd be angry.

Best cable stripper
This tool works flawlessly when stripping large fine stranded battery cables. It does take some set up for each different wire size and insulation thickness, but once it’s set correctly, it doesn’t nick any conductors. It even works well on multi conductor SJ style cord, for removing the outer jacket.
