Compatible for Phone X / 8/7

I bought this because i have been using USB to serial adapter combined with a serial to Cisco serial adapter and all of the adapters i had used with configuration had been buggy and either crashed PUTTY or caused blue screens of death on windows or simply froze my computer at random times. This is the first solution I have come across that didn't require connecting one adapter into another. So far this adapter works flawlessly and quickly. Windows auto installed the drivers with no problems and it even maintains the same console port when I move it to a different USB port on my machine. I am having others where I work try this out to see if they have the same success I have. If it works this well for everyone I will be getting our company to order these for all of our employees. I will try to update this review after several people have tried it out.

I have struggled for years to use a serial to USB converter and will leave that behind. This is truly a great product. I connected three of these to network switches and they all worked great, simultaneously! I have other USB devices connected as well and there were no problems. I am sold on this product.

Was looking for a cable that would allow me to connect to the console port of a Cisco switch/router with my Mac laptop. The cable works great. I use the OSX terminal to make the connection. To do so, you'll need to identify the device by issuing the command "ls /dev/tty*" and then connect to it with the command "screen /dev/tty-xxxx 9600"

It just works. I did need to download drivers from ftdichip-dot-com to get it working under Win7 Pro, but no big deal. Connects to the serial console port on my Ubiquiti and Cisco equipment without issues. Note that you do need to set your terminal program (Putty, SecureCRT, etc.) to the correct serial parameters for your equipment, the defaults probably aren't correct. Look up the correct COMx port to use in Device Manager if you are running Windows.

I ordered two of these and love them. With my new windows 10 laptop I no longer have a serial port and this works perfectly with no driver installation required. Just plug it in, launch TeraTerm and go.

Great length and works with Windows 10. I use an old Linux console program that was rewritten for windows. The length of the cable was perfect. Had the router on my work bench. If the router had been racked, I might have need this to be about 9 ft. Worked better than expected.

Finally a good cable, I have tried several of these console cables which none worked well. This was confirmed since the several console devices wasn't able to communicate with these cables. I took a leap of faith and tried this cable and the out of the box experience was overwhelming. instantly I was able to communicate with absolutely no problems and was able to update perform software updates and now I finally have a piece of mind

I purchased this to access the console of Ubiquiti EdgeRouters. It was instantly recognized by my computer and appeared as another COM port. It works exactly as expected and I haven't had any problems with it. It's a nice tool to have for the price.
