Couldn’t put it down
I really enjoyed this book. I didn’t want to put it down, I read the whole thing in just a few hours. I thought the story was very well written. The flow and feeling of the book had me grinning through most of the story, there was so much playfulness between the characters while also having plenty of serious moments. Lera’s attraction to each of the men allowed for a little bit of spice which is always nice. I’m very excited I found this series a and can’t wait to read the next books.

Such a great series!
If you enjoy steamy reverse harem novels, this one is for you! It takes a bit to warm up these characters, so I would recommend getting through the first 2 books before making any decisions. Overall, it's a great series & a fun binge read

sweet agony of anticipation
Alex Liddell weaves a tale of anticipation, pain, grief and love. Immersive worlds, mysterious characters intrigue and the agony of new love. An adventurous ride from beginning to end. Grateful for sequels, I did not want this to end.

Great Read
Flew through this book and really did enjoy it, went from 0 to 100 real quick though. The 3rd person POV for the other characters are a little annoying, but overall it's a great book.

*****Spoilers*****Leralynn aka Lera aka Cub aka Lilac Girl learns she's the fifth in a group of five, the other four pieces are fae male warriors whose responsibility it is to protect the realm from creatures from the Mors. They lost their fifth ten years ago and fae magic has paired them with Lara as the new fifth. Mors is a dark in between place that spawns nasty critters that want to destroy and the fae on this side fight back against it. Though she begins life as an indentured servant, Lera is off on the road with the fae males who made up their minds to sever the bond from Lera before they ever met her. Once they do meet though, second, third, and sixth thoughts put the original plan on hold until by the end of the book, Lera and the others have decided to stay together. There's too much familiarity too soon and things move a little too quickly too often. Tye, River, Coal, and Shade have known one another for centuries so it makes sense that they know one another but the familiarity Lera shows after hours of knowing the warriors is off and doesn't feel genuine. Speaking of, feelings are spoken but not shown so they come out flat for me when reading. Too much too soon and sometimes scenes skip without those incremental descriptions in between to get us from point A to B. Lera jumps to conclusions and is so self defeating, she refers to herself as a lowly human more than once and constantly wonders at her own worth, takes dumb risks, and then blames herself for the males being in danger. The self doubt leads her to lose confidence not only in her place in the quint as it's called but also leaves her vulnerable to influence peddled as advice and Lera of course soaks it in. Eye roll here for me but at least she makes up her mind to stay by the end of the book instead of continuing to agonize over her worthlessness. The idea and story were interesting enough to keep my interest but I'm not sure how long it'll last especially given how quickly the story moves, it could really use more time and pages devoted to building relationships. The characters seem real and different even if they go from nothing to something with Lera. The next in the series will probably involve some trials at the Citadel where the ruling quint resides so I expect it to be interesting enough for the next in the series, possibly full of peril and life and death situations.

4 unexpectedly delightful stars..
Let me start off by saying that I’ve read several reverse harem books before and they never seem to do the trick; they’re either too PG or too R rated (in a tasteless way). Some also have excruciatingly slow build-ups that leave more for wanting and others are very fast paced. I’m happy to say that ‘Power of Five’ had nothing of the above; it had just the right pace and amount of steaminess that I’ve been looking for in a reverse harem book. ‘Power of Five’ is the first installment in the ‘Power of Five’ series. It’s a book about finding your people and place in this world.Leralynn ‘Lera’ is brave, fragile and resilient. She was abandoned as a baby and was raised by someone who mistreated her for years. This has caused her to feel like an outcast and unwanted, until she was presented with a offer that she couldn’t say no to.This offer came in the form of four Fae warriors - Tye, Shade, River and Coal. After the loss of their fifth member, the quint brothers have been looking for a new member to complete their group. What they didn’t expect was the quint magic choosing a mortal female to become their new member. These four males were a delectable treat. There’s Tye who’s light-hearted and the playboy of the group. River is the commander of the quint and exudes dominating strength. Coal is the ferocious and silent powerhouse of the group. Shade is the polar opposite of Coal. He‘s affectionate, attentive and very physical when it comes to showing affection. All four men were painfully handsome and exuded everything male, but if I had to choose then I’d choose Tye, whose infectious personality and playful banter melted my heart something fierce.Another thing that I enjoyed immensely was the flow of events and the plot. This book was an amazing start to the ‘Power of Five’ series and I’m very curious to see where this story will lead to. Overall, ‘Power of Five’ was a very angsty and enjoyable read. If you’re looking for a reverse harem book where the heroine and the guys have a genuine connection then grab yourself a copy of the first installment in the ‘Power of Five’ series.

Brilliant!
I've been hearing about this series for a while and I've decided to finally give it a try.It was good. Lera is a human who gets chosen by magic to become a member of one of the strongest fae quints. Her four male warriors come to pick her up and try their best too break the bond that link her with them. She's human, and humans and fae magic don't match, but Lera is stubborn and she does what she thinks is the best for the men she started to fall with.I really liked the story, however, I felt like the author needed to give more time to describe their characters and their personalities as they are not thoroughly reflected throughout the story.

Profoundly uplifting and magical
From the first page I was completely hooked. You enter into a magical world that is deeply rich, sensual and exciting. So uplifting - honours both the beauty of the feminine and the magnificence of the masculine. A huge self-worth booster for women as it reminds us that we are the treasure and that males desire us powerfully. I’ve decided to take up my own reverse harem. I have three men so far - who identify with lion, wolf and polar bear. Who will complete my own real life power of five?! Sooo good to read a book in which every word is perfection.

Expensive trilogy be warned!
Enjoyed the pace of this book. The character building. It lost its ways in places which usually annoys me but I got past it. I'm disappointed in myself as I usually check if it's part of a trilogy when offered at a cheap price. Books 2+3 are £4.99 each. Sadly I will not be paying that. £1.99 maybe.

Reread again
For some reason I just love this first book of the series and have read it a number of times. The characters already start to develop and I love Leralynn’s personality and cleverness.
