WORKPRO Folding Utility Knife, Quick-Change Box Cutter

Extremely handy box cutter. I bought it to replace my favorite 30 year old cutter. Not sure I’ll ever let go of that one though. I love the thumb finger rest on the new one. I LOVE the blade storage in the body too. The lockback to fold in the blade is a bit stiff to activate with my CMC, but not really bad. The blade storage cover is very easy to open and close. Handy to have 5 extra blades right in the knife. I’m not fond of the color.

My fiance said “wow I really wish they made a box cutter with the blades attached cause I can’t find the blades when i need them” well I googled it and found this the next day. I surprised him with it and he keeps requesting me to buy more so we can keep one in the kitchen, one in the garage, one in the office, etc. the thumb pad is amazing too, allowing you to press with your thumb On a soft area so you can control the pressure more comfortably. We were so impressed with the brand that we started buying more tools from WORKPRO. Will be a new household favorite.

Probably my favorite knife so far as a handyman. I tend to always leave my blades around or forget them and so I pick up quite a few. This one is great for me personally because: 1. The wood grain is a nice touch; I might even coffee stain mine. 2. Feels nice on the thumb when you are holding it, it has that notch cut out in just the right spot. 3. The flick of the blades are nice, easy to open for sure. 4. It has 2 knifes in one, I mean come on! I always need the utility razor style knife because I do so much cutting of random stuff that it's easier for me to change out a blade than sharpen it. But it's got a good size blade in there for if I wanted to you a knife for more traditional means. I guess this is technically a "value" statement or whatever but I just genuinely like how it has both in one and they work well for such a cheap price. 5. The blade locks which is actually a make or break for me, It can be folding in on my hand 6. It's made of metal and wood so it doesn't feel as flimsy as some other blades I own with a hard plastic shell or something. 7. The clip just about always clips right onto my belt or pocket on the first try and I didn't have to pry it at all. Good form.

UPDATE 3/4/20: The company contacted me and after explaining what was wrong with the knife, they sent a replacement. So I upgraded my review from 3 stars to 5. Anybody can make a dud from time to time, and the real proof of a good company is how they back up their products. I can't complain about promptly contacting me and also quickly sending out a replacement. That's how to do business! The replacement worked properly BTW! (Original Review) I really like the pocket clip, the blade storage and the folding design. I feels heavy and sturdy and would hold up well for cutting thick materials like linoleum or thick leather. But...I had to repair it right after I opened it, hence the three stars. If you want 4 or 5 stars, your product ought to function out of the box without immediate repairs being required as soon as you open it. I'm not so sure about the blade changing procedure. You can see that there's a small hole drilled in the blade holder, and a corresponding divot in the little clip that rotates out of the way allowing the side with the hole to rotate in the other direction which then uncovers the back half of the blade. As you can see in the photos, mine came with the retainer clip bent so far in I was almost unable to open it to change the blade and when I tried to close it, I couldn't get it closed at all with just my fingers. I was afraid to put too much force for fear I might slip and cut my finger. After I looked at it really close, I could see where the divot on the clip actually dug into the knife. Then looking closer you can see that the corner where the little nub or divot that keeps the clip from freely moving open and closed is bent inward. It is pretty hard steel (which is good) but made it kind of hard to bend back with pliers. I don't know how many blade changes I will get before that divot rubs a deep track into the blade tip and then will get loose and not hold the blades in very well. That remains to be seen. I don't know if my experience is a one-off thing caused by someone getting overzealous with a punch or if they are poorly made.

I finally decided to treat myself to a new utility knife. And the Workpro was the one I chose. I am impressed by the solid feel of the knife and it's sturdy construction. I have used my Stanley and Lutz utility knives for 30+years and the only thing I can say about them that is better then this one, is that they can open in increments if you only need a little blade sticking out. This is full open or not at all. The blade storage is easy access which saves a bit of time over unscrewing the whole handle to get to the blades. There is a place just for your thumb to steady the blade in cutting and allow you to add pressure when needed. The old models did not have this feature, because they are wide enough to give you purchase on top. However, the width does seem to limit the visibility of exactly where you are cutting. This wide open blade and narrow holder gives you much better viewing of your construction area. The one con for this knife is the blade holder itself. You really have to hold the holding plate up tight when re-locking it in place or it won't be locked completely. Of course there is a good side to this con too... once locked in, it really holds that blade steady. The knife has a solid lock that keeps it open and is hard to depress to unlock it... not a con, because you do not want it to accidentally unlock while using it! All in all I recommend this to anyone who would like to have a more compact utility knife that you can even clip to the inside of your tool bag or right on your belt. Definitely a 5 star product!

This is a good knife! I was a bit hesitant when i purchased it. But after using it some time i purchased two more!

Buonasera, il pacco è arrivato nel tempo stabilito,appena l'ho spacchettato non avevo dato tanto importanza al prodotto ma dopo 5 minuti mi chiamano per fare un guasto di media tensione ed ho avuto subito l'occasione di provarlo. 1. Appena l'ho provato per sbucciare un cavo, la prima cosa che mi ha sorpreso e che NON HA LA SINDROME DELLA LAMA BALLERINA. 2. L ergonomicità del manico e il top, materiale anti scivolo con bordi tondeggianti 3. Il sistema del cambio lama e ben elaborato e ben assemblato ha anche il poggia dito tattico, a differenza quelli standard che se appoggi il dito del porta lama con il rischio che si apre la clip 4. Le lame sono molto taglienti e resistenti 5. La clip per cinture e molto forte e sicuro. L'unico modo per perdere questo taglierino è farsi sparare da un cannone ad una forza di 10G 6. Il porta lame e top grazie a questo vano rendono il manico molto più comodo, il corpo del manico e il acciaio , con blocco chiusura. Questo è l'unico acquisto veramente soddisfatto che ho fatto su amazon, e l'unico che recensisco con tutti e soli Pro. Il prezzo per quello che si ottiene e perfetto È un vero scambio equivalente rapporto qualità prezzo.

I really like this Utility Knife Seems great quality for the price, The plastic feels very nice, like smooth velvet, I like the extra blade compartment, These blades seem sturdy as well, they don't break easy under certain forms of stress, like break away razors. Even if you try and bend these razors by hand, They don't really flex much, there WAY stronger than break away razors, this is the first time I have seen utility razors like this, And I like what I see, Wish I knew about these years ago, very useful for removing the flooring in vehicles or cutting thick carpet, The Blades won't break, I bet if you had the right pull through/field sharpener, You could extend the life of these blades, on the spot, without much trouble. Either way I like this design of razor blade, I'll be buying more razor blade and utility knifes like this, Color me impressed!
