This book was great. it had fun easy activities to do as warm ups, demonstrations or lessons. The materials for the lessons were easy to get. The grade level 5-10 was appropriate. It had lessons in physical, life science, and earth science. Background information and diagrams were provided and helpful. It is a great resource for science teachers

This book is great for a science teacher or tutor or even a parent who wants to add some short, clarifying, hands-on work to their teaching. Each activity is well organized, uses just a few, easy-to-find items, and has a single, eel-made point. The instructions are clear and there are excellent follow up questions and/or activities for the student. I would guess most activities would take between 2 and 10 minutes. The range of topics for which there are activities is extremely broad. I included photos of the table of contents so you can see the long list and one activity page so you can see what a typical activity looks like because I find it difficult to evaluate these kinds of books online without seeing a page. I am a home teacher/tutor and although I just got this book I KNOW I will be using it extensively this year. It’s perfect for adding that hands-on element that helps so many students learn and enjoy science. My one complaint is that it is printed in low quality, non-white paper, which is harder for me to read.

Great suggestions for lesson starters.

I'm a high school science teacher. I use this book as a reference for my science labs. The labs in this book are excellent for getting abstract ideas across to the students. So far the cost associated with the labs is minimal and only a few items are needed. This is a great resource for science teachers.

This is a good value for teachers needing some resources for their class. It is really useful and you can pull from various areas of the book. I’m glad I purchased it!

This book has good activities than can be easily incorporated into the classroom, but the binding broke in less than half a school year. Pages are unglued and haphazardly tucked between other pages

This came yesterday in the mail and I have just looked through it. It contains some good experiments and they could certainly require a full class session to perform. It is good learning material in this book. I highly recommend it, but have not used any of the experiments yet. I just looked at a few of them. You would have to research your own state standards to see where these activities fit, but it is certainly a good book!

So my husband and I are leery consumers of educational materials in the classroom as so many are no good. This book was a pleasant surprise! Fun, quick, cheap, hands-on activities to introduce or reinforce all sorts of science concepts. A great buy for a budding teacher, a veteran teacher, or a parent science enthusiast!
