Impressive performance!
I bought this item because I was fed up with my home broadband occasionally cutting out in the middle of important Zoom calls - it might only be for a few seconds, but it’s very annoying! I liked the fact that it’s a PAYG SIM, as I didn’t want to be tied to a contract. I will only be using it for Zoom calls, so hopefully won’t go through too much data.Set-up is a little tricky, as the instructions aren’t entirely clear. For example, according to EE, I’ll find the mobile number of the SIM card on the packaging of said SIM. No, it isn’t. It’s on a sticky label on the box, which fortunately I remembered from past mobile phone purchases. This device takes a micro SIM, which again, they don’t tell you, although it’s easy to work out, just keep going down a size. The HTTP address is crucial, don’t lose it - it’s your key to topping up the card, checking your data, and lots of other things.Anyway, set-up completed, I connected to the network and road-tested it. The room I work in is upstairs, and my main router is downstairs, so even with a signal booster, reception upstairs isn’t brilliant. The WiFi Mini is as fast as my main router downstairs, twice as fast as the boosted signal upstairs, and light years faster than tethering my phone. I can even connect to the WiFi Mini from downstairs - it’s slower, obviously, but perfectly usable. Quite an impressive performance.First Zoom call will take place later this week, but at least with this little gadget I have two fast networks to choose from - hopefully both of them won’t go down at the same time!

Just works
Had this 4G HUB for a while and replaced a previous EE hub. I use it on contract not PAYG as works out a lot cheeper.Reception is mostly good depending on your area. I use this when out and about to avoid connecting to public wifi. I also have it connected to a broadcast video camera for live streaming. It's a great backup if your home broadband goes down.Have achieved download speeds of up to 40Gb and uploads of around 7Gb. Battery life around 5 hours constant use but the device will sleep if not connected to anything.Charged via USB and so if you have a charge pack with you, the device can be easily topped up and still works while charging. It's very small as you can see from the photo of it resting on a 16" MacBook Pro.Have had 4 devices connected simultaneously. I do not know if this device works with non EE SIM cards. I have an unlimited data plan with EE.

Works ok - No Issues
Using this with an EE SIM, but not the SIM sent so yes you can put a contract sim in this unit and use it. Purchased for a friend who is just renting locally for 6 months and didnt want to commit to a landline so currently this little unit is providing a good wi-fi coverage in a basic one bed starter home for his laptop and TV. No issues with set up for connection, it stays plugged into the wall and just works.

Ease of use
This is an excellent handy piece of kit.I bought it to tide us over when we moved house and was waiting for broadband to be installed. It did the job well with a good signal.

Don’t bother
We have a static caravan and having used EE and assured it was the best gave this a try. Well because of lockdown visits have been intermittent so has the signal. Finally now back to relative normal and of course outside guarantee, EE actually admits they have lots of problems with this particular router and get the box 2 version, which you can only get with contract, if you are in contract don’t worry it’s only another £12 a month on top of your present contract, just use the 2 together! Finally had my contract cancelled, only paid out £150 so far! No I haven’t gone with their next version, the very helpful customer service said if the tech guys dealt with all the complaints they wouldn’t be recommending anything, don’t waste my money! So I now have the TP-link, not much better but taken a smarty card which is one month contract and half the price. Incidentally I have researched everything and can find nothing that really works so my recommendation is go cheap, unless anyone else knows something that does work. I suppose that’s why you get unlimited data - you can’t get it!

Excellent speed, battery, portability and reasonable price
I used this as a replacement for our Sky broadband and to go on holiday to a caravan park and still be able to work, after a month of no Sky Broadband I’ve realised that I could happily use this instead of a wired connection.I watched Netflix in HD on this and worked for days on end with kids streaming and the wife browsing all at the same time. It’s also small and light with a great battery life. My wife has been carrying this around in her handbag as she ran out of data because of the broadband being down.Excellent speed, battery, portability and reasonable price.

It Works - But Not Without Problems
I'd better explain that I have been using an older version of this for a few years. Thought I'd get a newer version with, hopefully, improved range and better signal. The range IS vastly superior to my old unit and it seemed to pick up a signal without issue. So why am I not keeping it? Well this is used for all my broadband need and, for some reason, I was repeatedly losing audio when watching TV. I was having to sort out audio issues every ten minutes-or-so. Unfortunately, therefore, it is going back and I'll carry on with the old unit whilst I continue my search for a replacement.

Love it!
Love the size it’s so portable! I use it for my little apartment as where I live there’s no fast speed Fibre broadband I could get from any providers. This is the one for me!! 😍😍😍 my partner and I both use EE for our phones so it’s a bonus that we can keep gifting data to this wifi mini when it runs out!
