Sony Sucks
After a month or two the sensor case cracked rendering it useless as it would no longer stay on my racquet. "All About Tennis" out of Scottsdale was the "seller" and would do nothing for me. Sony would do nothing for me. I wasted almost $200.00. Hopefully Amazon will intervene on my behalf, and if not, hopefully my credit card company will. It was a gadget of limited usefulness before it broke and I thought about returning it after I tried it out but I don't return stuff that I buy and use unless I have a damn good reason other than I just don't like it. In this case so far I am getting screwed big time. If you buy one and get screwed too remember that I warned you!

Great tool, good idea. App needs work. Sony didnt design the app well.
Bought two of these, the Japanese version and the new US version. Great tool to evaluate your performance and progress. Only issue with the tool - not easy to share your data with your coach or anyone else unless you give them your PSN userid/password. Screen shots do not work as well due to scrolling - you need to take two screen shots. Share icon is there but it brings up the camera for some reason.Another issue - it should have worked with sports cams. Does not work with even the Sony Sports cam. I understand why - I think it is the camera needs to be controlled by the app - I am guessing they are inserting tags within the video stream for shot markers. Unfortunate they did not think of a better way to sync the shot data with the video.Price is a bit steep at $200. Japanese version is $172 including shipping and handling. Works as good with Wilson racquets - comes with the same adapters for racquets. Only difference I see is the manuals are in Japanese - makes no difference. It is easy to use without the manual.

Nice, rugged unit. Still testing the accuracy.
REVISED AFTER ONE YEAR:Revising my rating to 2 stars, as the plastic clip mechanism did not stand the test of time! Sensor kept coming off the racket clip, and each time the sensor was a little more damaged. I'm just out of warranty now, and have asked for a "repair" cost. We'll see what happens!-------------------------------------EARLY REVIEW: Nice unit and seems to detect stroke type fairly accurately. A few small things:(1) "flat" forehand shots seem to register as "slice", so you might find your percentage of top-spins to slices unusually small. (there is no "flat" category)(2) not really sure what "server sync" is for, unless maybe you are moving to a new phone.(3) it's unclear that changing the racket type actually changes the sensor response to anything - to be further tested.(4) also not clear if the ball speed estimates are at all accurate - has anyone out there verified these? They seem to be good on a relative basis anyway. Also, at least if you have a Wilson racket, it may be possible to jam the adapter in a older racket and have things work fine. For example, it mounts fine on my older Wilson K-Surge. If it doesn't fit, you can order a new "butt cap" (and grip) inexpensively from a tennis shop (I got mine from JustTennis.net)All in all, happy so far!

Very poor battery life...otherwise okay.
It's not the worst product, but for 150-200 dollars I expect a device to last longer than 3, maybe 4 hours at a time. While it pairs seamlessly w/ my devices, and the set up was relatively straightforward, and it connects with my racket just fine and doesn't fall out, I'm very frustrated by the lack of court time I get with this. I have to bring an additional battery in my tennis bag, so I can plug in the USB charger to make sure I have enough juice to last me through an entire day, especially if I try to use live mode w/ bluetooth. I think I'm going to contact customer service and see about getting a replacement, or return the product if they say normal battery life is only supposed to be 3 hours.

Great sensor but needs improvement
I like this sensor and it gives interesting details about my tennis game, spin, and velocity, calories burned etc...the app works well and is easy to use. I took off a star because it does not secure to the racquet well. When I swing with a lot of top spin in comes off and flies away. this happens at least a few times for every hour played. they need to improve this aspect

I really wanted this to work...
This deserves a solid one star because when it works it is really cool, unfortunately, it rarely works. Sony exchanged this product 6 times because they kept sending me products that didn't work. Finally after the 7th tennis sensor, they are offering me my money back because they say it sounds like a software issue with the device. So, I have tried out 7 of these sensors. Some of them didn't connect with bluetooth. Some didn't register shots on my phone. Some didn't synch. They all come off the racquet easily. Does anyone have one of these that works more than 3 or 4 times before it breaks?

Works great
It works great, the video mode is awsome . Great aid to improve your game, I have been playing for 40+ years and 25 years as a USTA captain. It can be alittle tricky to set up.

Sony Smart Tennis Sensor and video mode problems with Galaxy Tab 4.
The tennis sensor works with iOS devices (iphone 5s), but if you have a Galaxy Tab4 you are SOL. The live video mode does not work on the Tab4. I made sure I had the latest Tab 4 firmware as of Mar 9th, and the latest Sony Software v1.3.1. I called Sony support. I explained to them the Tab4 video mode problem, the tech took my phone number, and I was put on hold. After 5 minutes, I got disconnected and I was never called back. I just wanted a simple answers. Is there a problem with video mode on Tab 4, and when will there be a fix? Sony support very poor.
