2500 miles on the filter, oil is as clean as can be
Put this on a recently bought 2007 Volvo T5 with 70k miles. The oil wasn’t terrible at time of purchase - a little dark, but still transparent with no noticeable sludge or burnt appearance. Changed the oil and installed this filter, running an extra quart through the engine as a sort-of flush before refilling and buttoning up. 2500 miles later, the oil still looks fresh and clean as when it came out of the bottle. Which is exactly what you want to see. Will change again at 3k and I’ll know I’ve got an engine free of any any goo or other undesirables. It’s such inexpensive assurance.
