This is a true blessing of a product, and is very gentle on the stomach & beneficial for probiotics!Manuka Honey: The more expensive, luxury addition to a home/natural treatment of the bacteria. This honey is(& should) a product of New Zealand as the bees forage the Manuka tree in a majority of the pollen. These all have UMF (Unique Manuka Factor) ratings to denote how much of the active ingredient you seek is within the product. There is a potent anti-bacterial agent in this honey not found in any other honeys (or at least to such a degree) & the UMF scale is the indicator. I did not seem to help with my shingles but the reason I am writing a review is because of what it has done for me post workout as well as for what it did for my arthritic big toe. I will simply say this about the toe: if I take monolaurin it doesn't hurt. If I don't it does. I am 56 and in great shape because I work out very hard 4 or 5 days a week. The first day I took it I found myself running at the mouth because of the good, clean energy I got from it. That lasted a day but I have had more energy in the morning since. After working out like a teenager might I don't crash even though I get tired physically. I am alert, and it doesn't matter if I work out in the morning or afternoon. I cannot drink even decaffeinated coffee so I am very sensitive to stimulants of any kind and this causes me zero problems in that regard. I found this reading reviews for curcumin (with bioperine) and suggest everyone try that too, and I give it 5 stars. Esberitox (5 stars) is awesome for bronchitis and colds if you take it at the first symptom. Both well reviewed and available at Amazon. Doctor's Best chelated magnesium helps my workout recovery quite a bit and supplements are needed by most people. It is said to help with anxiety, migraines, sleep and energy among others. AFter dinner I still feel good no matter how hard I worked out that day.

I took this awhile back when I first got Herpes from an ex (I am not ashamed to say I have this and really feel there is way too much of a social stigma out there about this virus because it's an STD and oh my goodness...an STD is so bad and you are bad because of it - I'm being sarcastic people :-))Anyway, I have had "H" as they call it for 5 years now and honestly don't have any outbreaks but that could be because I was taking the "V" (Valacyclovir) to shut down any outbreaks (that's what they call it when you have an attack of "H" coming on). Luckily, aside from the heinous first time when I got "H" I don't have outbreaks but again, I have used V up until about 2 months ago. I saw this online and remembered when I did my research for "H" when I first got it, that this was supposed to knock out any outbreaks. I forgot why I stopped taking it, maybe I got lazy and just wanted to use "V" when I needed to but recently I've been wanting to get my health in better standing.I still have the "V" in my medicine cabinet but don't use it or haven't had to in the past 2 months, since I started using Monolaurin. I MUCH prefer to take something natural then something that is chemically harsh on your body.Word of advice, if you just got "H", please take the "V" for the first few months or at least have it as a back up. If you don't have insurance for "V" then yes, get the Monolaurin as well as Linoleic Acid and lastly, please know that after a while your body will deal with or in a way repress the "H" as long as you keep your health pretty steady (i.e. sleep at least 8 hours, little alcohol or recreational drugs and whole foods (not preservative laden).As for me, I'm sticking with this stuff because, as with Tumeric (which I did a review on as well) it's overall great for my body, not just for my compromised immune system ("H") and I'll take something natural ANY day over something that is chemically based.
