Charming and cozy at Christmas (except for family!)
Gemma owns a tearoom in England and her significant other, Devlin, works for the local police force. Things of course are busy and chaotic at Christmas time and Gemma has her hands full as Devlin goes off to his mom for the holiday, while Gemma accepts a last minute catering job and then has her mom and her own visiting family to handle for Christmas.Unfortunately while at her catering job there is a murder and Gemma, who is an amateur sleuth, is u pm expectedly snowed in and trapped with the hosts of the event and the possible murderer, is asked by the family to solve the murder.Gemma has solved a few murders in previous books and is known to piece together clues and solve the other murders, so while waiting for the police to arrive (the police can’t get there for at least a day due to the heavy snowfall) so Gemma agrees to help out and interview everyone there. This is a charming and cozy at Christmas story (except for the family holiday drama which will be familiar to us all). Grumpy relatives and squabbles will ring true for all readers! By the way? The murderer was shocking! And a complete surprise. Y’all will NOT ever guess who it was.A charming novel and an absolutely worthwhile read

A good and fun read
This story is fun and filled with “normal” characters, flawed and not. The main character left her corporate job a year ago and returned to Oxfordshire and opened a tea room. She is making a go of it and even has a detective as her boyfriend. For Christmas, she caters an event for underprivileged children. After the children leave, the rest of the people are snowed in and must stay the night in the mansion. Poppy discovers the dead body of the just returned son and things become “ interesting” . Too many suspects with motives.Along with trying to find the murderer, there is her family, including American cousins whom her mom hosts for the day.Lots of interesting family and some friends, suspects and Christmas traditions to deal with. The murderer is a surprise. The boyfriend returns early, and everything comes together, although not as expected.Well worth the read.

The Christmas Party
Gemma is catering a Children's Christmas party in a large estate near her Tea Shop and gets snowed in. Just like a mystery story, there is a murder. Only the people snowed in together could have done it. After lots of potential murderers, she finally figures out who did it. Throw in a funny spoiled cat and four old ladies helping out and you have a great story. Will you figure out the murderer before Gemma?

Absolutely loved this
This was awesome especially the little twist at the end. Still don’t know why Gemma is always so reluctant to start an investigation though

Christmas Murder
I really enjoyed this book. Gemma is hoping for a quiet holiday with her family but it turns out to be anything but. Gemma along with The Old Biddies and her cat Muesli find themselves snowed in at Thurbly Hall with a dead body and trying to help solve the crime. Christmas day finds us at Gemma's family home trying to show their American cousins a real English Christmas but nothing goes according to plan making it a funny and surprising day. Along with an entertaining story are recipes for mince pie and more. This is a funny, quirky, murder mystery story that is worth reading.

Modern Day "Country House Murder"
I don't know how one of my favorite complete escape reads fell through the cracks, but I think it was partially a bit of a reading slump I have been in. It can also be attributed to the pandemic that we all have been dealing with. I've been glued to the news and lacking in concentration for anything else. When I was paging through the back-up of unread books on my kindle, I was excited to find it.Any Agatha Christie (or Golden Age mystery) fan is aware of the country house mystery, the one where a motley group of people is marooned in the house by some natural disaster. This time it's an unusual Christmas snow in Oxford. Gemma Rose has agreed to cater a Christmas party for local children in a stately home. The prodigal son, who has been missing for years and thought to be dead, is murdered. The Mousse Wonderful Time of The Year has all the stock characters of the genre; the overbearing peer, the downtrodden daughter of the house, her disagreeable husband, and the obnoxious murder victim himself. Added to the mix are intrepid sleuth, Gemma, her mischievous cat, Muesli, the incompetent policeman, and the four "Old Biddies" from the tearoom. All the family has more than sufficient reason to wish the prodigal dead. This is an excellent entry in the long-running Oxford Tearoom Mysteries, and I look forward to the next one.

Loss of memory
Everyone seems to forget that the heroine accused several people wrongly of being the murder but end praising her when the murderer unrealisticslly confesses as if she is bored with the charade.

The Mousse Wonderful Time of Year (Oxford Tearoom Mysteries ~ Book 10): Christmas Whodunnit Special, my twenty-fourth read from author H.Y. Hanna. A 331-page read that captured my attention and kept me reading until I finished it in 1 sitting. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Again a great book by my favourite author
I have read all books of the Oxford Tearoom Mysteries and I just love them. And again H.Y. Hanna managed to write a book that you can't put down. It is really amazing that a book can give the Reader such a cozy feeling but also keeps him/her ins suspense due to the murder being the central topic of the book. Maybe this sounds ridiculous but I try to read slowly, enjoying every word, since finishing the book gives me the feeling of leaving good friends behind.

Oddly I have the feeling, I know the story allready
Some years ago I was watching a nice manor whodunit. The long lost son returned home and was murdered. He disappeared many years ago after some scandals because of sexual harassment. Which at the time when the story was placed was not called sexual harassment.strangely enough shortly before the nasty and later killed son returned home there was a new housekeeper established in the manor... There was the sister, which was not properly loved and appreciated, the unloyal husband, the erring soon to be wife of the rich father... What was missing in this film were the cat called muesli, the four elderly and slightly odd carol singers...The film I did see was without smart phones and modern paraphernalia... but apart from that... quite Identical from the plot as in this story.Since the author looks quite young I do not believe that the original film that I watched was based on her book, I fear it is rather the other way around. Which I find more than disappointing in a so called best selling author. I hope the other books from the writer are based on her own imagination and less on the works of other authors...
