Men's Resolve Jacket

I purchased this jacket when it was on offer and got it at a great price. I personally wouldn't pay the RRP for for this jacket even though it is still priced well in comparison to competitors such as Musto.It is not fitted / tailored in any way but offers great protection from wind and rain so can be used all year round. It does not provide much warmth so bear in mind when selecting your size that you may need to layer up underneath the jacket. I think the jacket could benefit from a chest pocket inside the jacket as it would be helpful for your phone / quicker access.

Jacket for general outdoor wear. It's very lightweight and very water repellent. The rain literally beads off! I would suggest wearing base layers underneath in colder weather as it's not got any thermal qualities.The hood is large and covers all of my head and is a bit fiddly to adjust with the pull cords so as to get it fit correctly. I ended up having to raise the front of the hood with my hand as it was partially covering my eyes. A bit of a faff when looking out for obstacles and traffic when walking.10/10 for water resistance and comfort.Just that issue with the hood but it did keep me dry.

This isn't a parka, there is no insulation - it is an expensive cagoule/anarak. It's great in all seasons apart from winter when you will need to wear several layers under it so if you are buying it as part of a multi layer system, make sure you buy the right size. It would be great if it pack a mac ed up into a small bag, it doesn't come with one but I have found that it stuffs down pretty small. It's expensive but the quality is there and it's more breathable than the Peter Storm £20 jobs.

PROS:This is a classic windbreaker in a versatile colour and made of a light but un-flimsy material that can be worn whole year round.The loose fit means that additional layers will still fit comfortably during the colder months.Loose fit fits well on those with broad shoulders. Stick to your usual size.CONS:Slightly pricey compared to other NF jackets within the average price range of 40-70 gbp.Loose fit will overwhelm those with narrow shoulders and a slight frame who might want to opt for a size smaller.

Having now worn the jacket in wet conditions and although the jacket is water repellent I am disappointed with how poorly the fabric breathes leaving you very damp on the inside. The lack of support in the hood is also very annoying and making it hard to look forward with the hood up.Basically I feel this is not as good a North Face product as those I have had previously.

Item as described, fit correctly and delivery was quick.I ordered TNF Black in size Medium.The jacket's thin and lightweight, and the hood rolls up nicely into the collar. Its not baggy but you can easily layer underneath without being constricted.If you can, try the jacket on in a store. That's what I did before placing an order on here.

When I think of “lightweight” I have an inclination to think of it as “breathable”. The jacket is pretty thin but my god I assure that you will sweat buckets wearing this thing! Little to no breathability. However very good for keeping you dry in the rain, doesn’t matter anyway because you will be soaked on the inside!

Nice jacket but size was too small despite looking it up on the site size guide and listening too reviews.I usually take XL and went for L since the size charts and reviews indicated this.I needed XL so if you wonder whether to get as smaller size than usual be careful.I liked this jacket but went for the Men's Sangro in XL instead..
