Good dovetail jig
Me and my son made 20 drawers with this. It works well.

Not quite as accurate as doing it by hand
I got this since I needed to make about 20 identical drawers with half-blind DT's and doing it by hand would have been pretty tedious. I generally don't use power tools---I thought I'd give it try. In the end, I could crank out the drawers, but it was frustrating at best and not nearly as satisfying. Here's the problem: unless you're 100% spot on with the side-to-side fence and the pins are perfectly centered, even a fraction of an mm off is not good...you wind up with a offset as you go around the drawer. By hand, I space out the DTs so I'm 100% sure that they're centered. Using the template, you're forced to a specific spacing. Also, the depth gauge is more or less worthless and recommended settings are not for my 6" router. Rather than trusting their scale, I pulled out a marking gauge and carefully adjusted the depth, and stop bar until I cut correctly. The side-to-side was more problematic. There may be a better way, but I placed a mark at the center of the pin-board, and carefully tried to center that in the middle of one of the template slots...it might be good to back and make a mark into the template. So, after about 2 hours of fiddling and making a half dozen failures, I got it dialed. Perhaps, someone has a better way of doing this...the instructions and videos are a bit too idealized. In the end, I probably saved an hour or so since I had so many to cut...for one-off boxes and other projects, this will probably stay on the shelf and I'll go back to my tried and true method of chopping them out but hand.

Good concept, collet could be better
The jig is a great product overall. It does what it is supposed to and once you read the instructions, re-read, re-read again, and re-read once more and give it a go, it is fairly intuitive how the jig works and produces good results. Like others, you've got to be careful with the template and only remove when you are fully out of the template. I accidentally nicked mine, but not at the top, so the bushing still works with the template. Also, be wary of the cheap and ill-constructed 8mm collet reducer included. It slid into my hitachi router and became permanently stuck. I thought I was going to have to buy a new router, but managed to drill the old one out (desperate measures!) without hurting my router. As a replacement collet reducer, I suggest looking for one here on Amazon and you can find the one that is durable, made in the USA, and has an oversized lip so the reducer won't slide too far into the collet. Well worth the minimal investment versus a ruined router. Overall jig is great for the average woodworker, just become very familiar with the instructions, watch the youtube videos, and GET A BETTER COLLET!!!

excellent for the price.
I bought this dovetail jig after weeks of reading reviews and comparing the pros and cons of all the dovetail jigs on the market. I decided on the Rockler jig due to it's versatility versus it's cost. The Porter Cables I looked at were definitely the most versatile but with a heavy price tag that I wasn't willing to pay. Upon receiving the Rockler jig I briefly read over the instructions and I had the hang of cutting blind dovetails on the first attempt. The slight adjustments were easy to make in order to make the tight joints I was looking for. With the jig I was able to finish making six drawers for a dresser I had crafted. Upon making more decorative joints with it, I was able to produce astonishing work. The joints were too tight at first but once I made the slight adjustments; the tails and pins went together like a glove. I can say that I have been throughly satisfied with this product. I have put it to the test time and time again, and I'm always satisfied with the results the jig produces. If someone can't make a sound dovetail joint with this jig, then they might as well hang up their router.

Great joints on drawers and boxes.
It takes some set up but it works great. Be patient and keep the directions handy

Not worth spending money on this jig
Router bits didn't fit my router, only fits Rockler I guess. I have craftsman and Dewalt routers and it doesn't fit either one. Instructions are very poor and contradicts itself, one picture shows important to align the bottom evenly an the next three show the bottom realigned differently. After going through 10 to 12 scrap cuts I gave up, wouldn't want to wast good product trying to make a joint. I have a cheap jig from 30 years ago that works better, but only did 8 inches.
