The Breed

I gave five stars for making me care about the characters for a change. Great videography, fantastic directing, kudos to the old school movie, I am not referring to the era-esq of the 40's WWII time, I mean the Big Movies with HUGE sets of the day when an extra could get a full face shot for a pittance.And something really important happened in this movie that has been bugging me nutty with other movies lately==== They Didn't Do Breath Acting==== That means the actors were really acting how we could understand and enjoy the depth of the characters not acting out of breath because someone bumped a guy in a busy school hallway then starts breathing like he had just run around the school twice, in the rain, with no clothes on......you get my drift by now. (cue heavy breathing because I typed so much).

The plot is ok. The acting is an absolute joke - very cliche and overdone. It's a very cheesy low budget kind of movie; most of the filming locations were old decrepit buildings that really didn't fit in with the story line. I took a chance on it while searching for something I hadn't watched dozens of times (it came with amazon prime), however I wouldn't recommend buying or renting it. Worth watching once to kill time (if you have amazon prime) and like me - are looking to watch something you haven't seen dozens of times already.

The Breed takes on the theme of racism using World War II as a backdrop to an alternative (parallel universe?) view of an Orwellian society around 1960. This is a mystery movie, but it uses a rogue vampire as a serial killer. Humans and vampires coexist in a taut alliance, with this particular case leading to a partnership between a black human cop and a white vampire cop to capture the murderer. What really takes the movie to another level, rather than just another vampire movie, is how it exposes the prejudice and racism lurking inside us all. This also more than a mystery movie; this is about hope.

I am a huge fan of Adrian Paul. Loved the Highlander series. I am a big fan of vampire flicks too..especially those with a unique viewpoint. HOWEVER...Paul, who does a decent job here cannot save the clunky dialogue and horrendous acting from therest of the cast. The unique view is saddles with age worn movie tropes and cliches, and watching it became literally painful. Still pushing through to make it to the end, as I do so like Paul's charismatic presence, but can only tolerate the rest of the film in small doses. What a disappointment.

Breed is my all time favorite movie it has a great moral and ethical standard.I can watch it over and over again

Szia, This was filmed in Budapest and was an interesting twist on the vampire films.Acting was good and it had enough plot twists to keep it interesting. It is notyour usual teen vampire fair but, rather more adult oriented. If youare looking for a 'Buffy" type movie, this is not it. Have to lovethe police car being a Zil 111. Have not seen one of those since I was a kid.Anyway, a good film that I enjoyed more then I thought I would.Viszontlátásra!

I liked this. As far as the acting. Who knows from experience how a vampire is supposed to act andspeak? If you want to see real blood suckers--watch C-span. Adrian Paul is always good and everythingelse was OK. Story line was pretty much classic betrayal, surprise, discovery, reversal, twist etc. Sort oflike a speech given by a politician three days before the election when he/she is behind in the polls.

Adrian Paul and Bai ling are definitely the highlights of this movie. I remember seeing this along time ago and falling in love with it.. For years i tried locating it even on vhs but it seemed lost in time until now ..Still holds up and a very unique movie

This is a quite excellent study in what makes a society function. The vampire story is well told but serves to support a much deeper study of the irrational nature of prejudice. Set in what appears to be fascist state at an indeterminate time the relationships between the officials of the state the its servants are shown as equivocal and compromised but not without redeeming features.The movie's nod to classics such as Nosferatu are subtly done. Great fun, with excellent cinematography and intelligent script and lead performances, it deserves to achieve cult status.

Maybe if I was high it would lessen the pain that I spent £7.99 on an Amazon instant video that was filled with poor acting and filler shots (man running from same spot a few times). I'm all for a B movie with their cheesy shots but the acting coupled with the price has put me off. I'm taking the film in stages, but my favourite scene so far has to be the "scientist" who doesn't realise you're there and the psychedelic Ebola type virus he is looking at in the lab.

total rubbish, not interesting, not scary, just a load of old rehashed imitation vampire stuff

I like the storyline for this movie and usual look at a vampire story and would have liked to have seen a sequel to it

Dvd in great condition. Fun vampire film.

The DVD arrived as stated, in good condition.The service was very good as well.The Breed was very good, I enjoyed it, wasa wee bit blood thirsty, but it was aboutvampires/humans. Adrian Paul was good in it.I think he is a very good actor.Kind RegardsMay Johnston (Spain)

So saw this film years ago, was very happy to add it to my Vampire collection, when you compare this movies to recent films, it Looks Old, but i love old things very happy with my dvd. Delivery was very quick

It's not a very good film tbh, there are a lot of better vampire films out there that cross genres. Try Daybreakers or Stake Land if you haven't seen them already.

Predictable vampire movie. Bought it because I like Adrian Paul.

Un film original sur le thème des vampires. L'idée que la race humain et les vampires peuvent vivre ensemble....Mais voilà beaucoup de longueur et surtout bien suivre pour bien comprendre. Des doublages très moyens.

Got this movie for a friend, a great watch if you like horror films. Highly recommended to a friend. delievery come on time.
